Tom ignites a sense of urgency and possibility. He demands that we face this war head-on, not only by taking individual action but by becoming climate leaders in our own right.

REVIEW OF BETTER, FASTER, CHEAPER

Tom Steyer’s book Cheaper, Faster, Better is satisfying on many levels. The book is grounded by decades of research and practice in favor of the climate. Quite a range of knowledge communicated by a devoted coach. For anyone who cares deeply about Climate Change but seeks a fuller overall picture of all the dynamics, Cheaper, Faster, Better is balm to the soul and food for the mind.

I was previously encouraged that many large oil companies promise to be carbon free by 2050, or some other year in the future. Naïve sucker! Steyer explains that this is mostly just a strategy by oil companies to extend the profit period by extracting fossil fuels for as long as possible. And the devastating effect this will have.

There are many fun personal asides in the book. Including an eye-popping disclosure about the Yale soccer team.

The book assumes a reader who is either curious or already in favor of significant action to save our planet from catastrophic warming and climate change. And then provides a panoply of both shocking and wonderful statistics. Solar energy is marching to victory!

I was inspired by a number of climate heroes who are profiled in the book. In summary, I felt empowered by a new and broader understanding of the whole climate picture, and excited to do my small part to take productive action after reading Cheaper, Faster, Better. Books of High Purpose have never been more fun and engrossing.

Hope at last!

It's so refreshing to come across a work such as this that doesn't shy away from the serious challenge that climate change presents, yet frames a solution in response that makes sense from a business investment perspective rather than a purely ethical one.

With the exception of the IRA, climate change has not been a bipartisan issue up to this point. What this book effortlessly presents is the use of capitalism as the means to get where we need to be by providing a better, cheaper products and consumer experiences that generates generous investment returns.

The exciting piece is that due to improvements in technology, we're now past the early adoption phase of the secular shit to a decarbonized economy. This book outlines how we can each play our part as voters, consumers, activists, and importantly investors.

Reading it provides hope and inspires action.
