About this listen

One morning Lo Anne Mayer wrote a letter to her mother, who had died a year earlier. Despondent over the strained relationship they had endured in life, Mayer started the journal because she still longed for healing. So began a remarkable soul-to-soul correspondence that restored their bond. When her own daughter died, Mayer started a new journal that soothed her grief. Now she shares her story and simple technique with bereaved people everywhere.

exceptional!

I have to say this is not a title I would typically even consider but I.Loved.It. I had the pleasure and honor of meeting Lo Anne during a writers workshop. Her story touched me, brought me to tears and had me smiling. I would reccomend her book even if you dont consider yourself a spiritual being.

Healing after Death

I had the opportunity to meet Lo Anne during a writer's workshop at my healing center. Lo Anne gifted me her signed book, but because of my busy life, listening to her story on audible was what would best work for me. After my own mother's traumatic death in 2013, I have wanted to find a way to connect with my own mother for insight and answers to my own questions of her life, and the decisions she made that made me feel distant and disconnected to her until that last year of her life.

Lo Anne's story touched me as she began her own healing through finding a way to connect with her own mother. Writing has never been something I did, at least not consistently in my own life and certainly not when I was young. Lo Anne you have inspired me as I write my own story to the way I too can heal my life deeper through the connection of the written word from this world I am still a part of, to the afterlife in which my mom now lives.

Your memoir is heartwarming, inspiring and in perfect timing to where my healing is now taking place. Bless you for the work you are now doing to help others along their journey of healing.

I also found the narrator to be quite slow, and at times irritating taking away from Lo Anne's story "Celestial Conversations" . Moving past my own judgement, I was able to move into the story and my own take away of healing my relationship with others who have passed on through journaling.

Thank you. I am encouraged by your words .

I have listened to it twice. Started my journal to my son. I haven't received letters back although I have received messages back through Pinterest boards. I loved the ease in which you presented your experience with this. May you be blessed always.

NOT MY USUAL GENRE-Received In Exchange For Review

What was one of the most memorable moments of Celestial Conversations?

This categorized as a Religion/Spiritual book, WAY outside my normal genre and would not have chosen it on my own. However, *I was offered a copy in exchange for my thoughts in review.*

This was an interesting listen. While I do not believe in many of the methods that the author does -such as vibrations, astrology, reincarnation, etc., she is able to eloquently describe how they apply to HER methodology.

Lo Ann Mayer explains her experience from her mother's death to opening and keeping a journal with questions directly to her. The first entry to her mother was answered by Mayer's own hand, however she is 'out of body' as she records what is coming through her mind. Only after the thoughts are recorded is Mayer able to come back and read her mother's reply. (It is not as complicated as I am making it sound.)

Mayer shares how these experiences continue and prepare her for emotional trials on earth and reveals her loved ones thoughts of the afterlife.

Whether a believer in eastern religions, or not, this book explores those and traditional western religions (I believe the author calls herself a Catholic) in a way that is caring and not offensive.

What three words best describe Pam Dougherty’s performance?

I have not listened to Pam Dougherty before. I found her narration/performance VERY slow. I listened on a faster speed and it was much better. I'd have fallen asleep if I had listened at the regular speed - no judgement, just fact.
