A Very Good Stand Alone Book
Though the 9th book written by this author, it is a Stand Alone book, not needing the reading of previous books. I liked and enjoyed this story, the MC Shylow, is returning to her family home after 15 yrs away. She hope things will be different and she will be accepted by the locals. The Narrator does a good job with the entire storyline.

Had me on the edge of my seat
Bridge to Safety is the 9th in the Misty Hollow series by Cynthia Hickey. I read this as a standalone so I don’t know if it’s a continuous series with recurring characters. In this book, Shiloh Sloan grew up in Misty Hollow but left after she was raped and no one believed her. She came back decades later to teach elementary school and reclaim her life. Unfortunately, Shiloh’s rapist is still in town and stalking, harassing and threatening her and those close to her. I don’t understand why and it was never explained why nothing could be done to stop the stalker, especially when he made repeated threats. It also wasn’t clear why Shiloh was not believed, but an unhinged violent stalker was protected. The ending still has my heart racing. The narration by Lauren Pedersen was excellent. She brought the characters and story to life.
