Appreciated the lack of foul language.

It was a good story with clean language. I plan to read more in this series.

Dark crimes, very good performance, no profanity!

This book has complex, deep characters and a sinister plot with dark crimes. It is so well written. In general I don't listen to books with dark themes, but the focus of this book isn't on the darkness. It is focused on people working through heavy issues and resolving the crimes. The performance is very good. The book is a little longer than I prefer, but I definitely will be reading/listening to more in this series. And it is so nice to listen to a clean book.

Strong female lead

A little long, but kept you guessing. Going to listen to the next book in this series.

Hard listen

The story was ok, but very hard to follow due to the narrator. She wasn’t awful, but took odd pauses and the story seemed to drag on forever. I thought more than once about quitting. Not sure I’ll listen to the rest of the series.

Relationships

I wanted to see more flirting with her and Jax I wanted to know what Jax thought of the main character . I wanted our author to express how attractive the main character is or was,
Maybe she didn’t see herself that way but how Jax and others saw her especially her friends . Both physically and her more important attributes like courage & remarkable crime solving skills, dry humor & her ability to not only bond with victims but care deeply.
Obviously, the other expressed this or I wouldn’t have picked up on any of the attributes. I just feel that she could have gone further with the characters and relationships ! I’d love to hear what Lisa has to say , I do listen to all her books .

Nice start to a new series

First book in a series and I can’t wait to see how theses characters develop going forward. Lots of twist and turns throughout the story, that really keeps you guessing. The narrator is not new to me and I found that she did a good job with this story. I look forward to many more books with these characters.

A Very compelling story of mystery and loss. Revenge is such an awful sin and sadness.

Intrigue

I disliked the narrator as the male voice. I loved the storyline and the twists and turns in the book. The characters were very believable and interesting. I didn’t like that so many people died, though. Maybe a few could have lived.

Kept my interest

A little complex so I was lost sometimes. But liked the premise and main characters

Good Story

The story kept you interested and it was clean! I only heard one profane word so that was a breath of fresh air. I have been looking for good, clean mystery’s that I can listen to. I love a good mystery but will not listen to profanity.
