About this listen

I wanted her.

She was just two floors away from me here in my castle.

And some piece of her—naïve and inexperienced—wanted me.

The man who was doomed to die at her hand.

I could mostly ignore that fact, now that I was used to her presence, and my intermittent lust. But I wondered if not telling her about it was a bigger betrayal than not telling her about my arrangement with her father. If she did manage her Ascension—and when she found out what that meant—then she would know the truth.

That there hadn’t been a moment, ever since we met, that I didn’t see my death inside her eyes.

I could only hope that the shame of her learning that would be absolved by a second realization: that I had loved her anyway.

Break Her: A Dark Beauty and the Beast Fantasy Romance Novel is the second book in the Transformation Trilogy, about Rhaim the All-Beast, a cruel beast mage doomed to die at the hands of the woman he must protect at all costs, and Lisane, the sheltered Princess of Tears, who has been given into his care and who needs him to teach her magic so she can be free—no matter how much it might hurt her.

Captivating Fantasy Romance

Break Her is book two in the Transformation Trilogy. Cassie Alexander’s story continues where Bend Her left off with Lisane in danger and Rhaim confronting their attackers. I had a harder time getting into this book at first. I enjoyed the new side characters and main character development. Lisane continues her epic journey in magery and cementing her freedom. Rhaim’s stone-cold demeanor toward his Moth softens a bit while maintaining their disciplined dynamic. The spice builds in this book. Phinx stole the show for me in Break Her. Their exchanges with Lisane made me laugh and their moments with Rhaim made me smirk with triumph.

Victoria Mei and Matthew Holland continue to impress in their performances of Lisane and Rhaim. I can’t wait to listen to the epic conclusion to this dark beauty and the beast retelling in book three, Make Her!

Wowowowow

This is probably the BEST retelling I have EVERRRRRRRRRRR HEARD. It’s such a slow burn, and usually I like to get straight to the romance but every building moment is worth it. I can’t wait until August!

Just keeps getting better

Oh boy. this book was great. I wasn't sure if it could get better than the last one, but it did. the world building is so vivid, getting a bit more of the mix of Howl's Moving Castle and Beauty and the beast that I loved from the first one. Add in some KILLER spice, and you get a winner. Great plot and excellently written, and the voice acting from the nararators is simply delicious. An excellent adventure with all the romance included.

The wY it was written and the scenes described reslly captures you and flings you into the story. the characters are ritch in their flaws, and it is a wonderful struggle with satisfying results. I can't wait until Make Her to see where the story goes.

The male narrarator, I can NOT get enough of. He does an excellent job portraying the gravity of the scenes. Just amazing, all of it. If you enjoyed Bend her, then you will really REALLY like Break Her.

Excellent fantasy romance audio!

Break Her is book 2 and picks up right where Bend Her left off. This has to be one of my favorite dark Beauty & The Beast retellings with such an original concept of magic and the dynamic between beauty and her beast. The deep history of magic, how mages are trained, and how each lives their life is exceedingly fascinating! Add in the history of how noble women are “protected” in this society and you have a brilliant world of magic, politics, war, and the fight for survival. What would you do if you knew the circumstances of your death and she showed up on your doorstep? Rhaim is extraordinarily complex, which makes sense when you consider how long he has lived and all he has experienced. Lisane is a strong women who is determined to fine her own way. Love all of the twists and turns, as well as the unexpected sweet moments. This story is a definite favorite and now I can’t wait for the final book in the trilogy! Victoria Mei and Matthew Holland bring these wonderful characters to life with excellent performances. Audio brings a whole new layer to stories and these 2 narrators are perfectly cast!

Great retelling

This book really had me intrigued wanting to know what would happen next! The way the characters developed through out the story was really impressive. A very different side of Beauty and the Beast we originally see in the movies. The narrators did an amazing job portraying the characters and pulling you in to the story.

can't wait to get my hands on the next book 📚

This second book was so good! This series is like if Howles Moving Castle and Beauty And The Beast had a baby but sprinkle in some spice 😘 this book was almost 5🌟 but the ending seriously pissed me off lol. I’m buddy reading this series with a friend and we are both truly loving it 🥰 I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! I’m both excited and sad to finish the series. I haven’t read anything like this before. I’m preparing for a massive book hangover 😂

Lisane’s pretty dumb

Without spoilers, Lisane makes some pretty dumb decisions and it’s very frustrating. Book was pretty good up until the last 10 minutes.

Guys. Guys!!! If you thought book 1 of the series was good, holy crap! Book 2 takes the freaken cake. Not only was the continued story amazing, but the relationship between Rhaim and Lisane becomes so much more. Mrs Cassie Alexander did it again and gave us a freaken masterpiece!

While she focused on the world building during the first book, the second book focuses on the ever growing relationship between Rhaim and Lisane. This book shows us love, anger, desire, betrayal and so much more! And if you know me, you know I am all about the spice. Well, this book was definitely a lot spicier than the first book.

Once again, the audiobook was fire 🔥🔥🔥!! Both Matthew Holland and Victoria Mei return to voice Rhaim and Lisane. And if you liked them in book 1, you are absolutely going to adore them and fall in love with their portrayal of our beloved characters in this book. The did such a great job putting us back into their world and made every chapter come alive. They absolutely killed the narration and I can’t wait to get my hands on Book Three of the story!! 🖤
