About this listen

Blood and Snow 1 (Books 1-4) contains: Blood and Snow, Revenant in Training, The Vampire Christopher, and Blood Soaked Promises

"Lips red as rubies, hair dark as night. Drink your true love's blood, become the Vampire, Snow White."

Every thousand years, the vampire queen selects a new body, always the fairest in the land, and this time she's chosen Snow White.

Blood and Snow: Snow White lives in Salem, Massachusetts, with her dad, stepmother, and her cat, Gatsby. Her entire life she's been teased for her fairy tale name, and the fact that her seven best friends happen to be guys whose names begin with the same letters as the seven dwarves.

Everything changes on a trip into Boston, where an unseen stranger bites her, and she's transformed into something not quite human.

Revenant in Training: Snow has been transformed into a revenant - not quite human and not quite vampire. She must discover how to live with the changes, hopefully without killing anyone.

The Vampire Christopher: As a revenant, Snow White craves blood. Especially the blood of her Hunter. But will drinking from him save or enslave her?

Blood Soaked Promises: Snow White must come to terms with her bloodlust. It's one thing to drink the blood of her Hunter, something else entirely to drink the blood of a human.

For teens, but I'm loving it!

Where does Blood and Snow, Books 1-4 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm an artist and work into the early morning with my hands tied, so I've recently gotten into audiobooks. Blood and Snow is a fun twist on a classic story, but the narrator is what brought the main character to life for me.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that there were light and sweet moments as well as dramatic and gripping moments. Also, I enjoyed the modern twist on the classic tale!

Which character – as performed by Rosanna Weigant – was your favorite?

I loved Rosanna Weigant as Snow, but she did such a fun voice with Snow's best friend Cindy. She also does well with male voices, without sounding awkward.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to the book at about 2 hour incriments. I would like to have 6 hours all to myself to listen straight, but life gets busy!

Any additional comments?

I have always enjoyed RaShelle Workmans books, so I thought to give her audiobook a try and I can't wait to buy the next one! I hope she uses the same narrator.

The narrator should keep her day job!

Would you listen to Blood and Snow, Books 1-4 again? Why?

No, I wouldn't listen to them again. I'm loving the story line and the twist on an old story, but the narrator is terrible. She is monotone most of the time and barely pauses at the end of the sentence so it just seems like run on sentences. I'm in the second book now and am considering giving up listening to the books and just reading them myself.

How could the performance have been better?

The question is how could the performance be worse, and it can't. This is the worst narration I've listened to. I'm amazed the producer thought this was okay to finalize.

Any additional comments?

Don't waste your money/credits on the audible version, read it on your kindle instead!

Not bad for a free book

This starts out slow & kind of bad. The narrator takes a bit to get use to. I got this one free so I decided to give it a try. I will finish the series so I know what happened to Snow White, her hunter & Gabe (I believe he will be back).

Snow White, a Vampire?

I, like many others have always loved the fairytale story Snow White and the 7 Dwarves but the story that RaShelle Workman has written is unique and intriguing. This is a new take on the old fairytale. RaShelle has filled this story with non stop action, blood, magic, first crush, and a young girl who's changing into something different. It was a great story and I loved the storyline and it flows steady. She adds a different take on this fairytale that makes it more complex than typically expected. I connected with most of the characters, especially Christopher. I think this story is made for the big screen. This is a perfect story for teenagers but adults as well. I actually had many of these ebooks that I had gotten free and my daughter actually is the one who told me about them. I had them in my kindle and she found them. She read every book at that time and I purchased the others.

Rosanna Weigant did a wonderful job with her telling of this story. Rosanna had me immersed into this story from start to finish and if I had the next set of stories, I would've started listening right away. Rosanna did a wonderful job with each characters accents/voices and I felt she did a great job with distinguishing each character. I didn't have any trouble recognizing which character was speaking throughout the story. This is a brilliant story with a perfect performance so overall I give it 5 stars.
I received this audio at no charge from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The story was good, but...

The story wasn't bad, intriguing even, but the woman reading the book sounded like a bored, slightly drunk Valley girl and there wasn't much variation in her voice when it came to characters, except the female best friend, Cindy. She sounded like the stereotype of a stuck up cheerleader half the time.

Read it DON'T listen to it

I think the story was ok. but the girl who read it for audible sounded like she was stoned. I kept zoning out, having to rewind to see what I missed. Really too bad, because I don't think I want to finish the story.

Well put together

Snow, that's her name. After listening there's no doubt this is a twisted vampire version of the fairy tale Snow White. In this story Snow is a teen, she doesn't get along well with her parents and spends more time at "the boys" house across the street. The neighbors are a father and his sons. One of which she has a crush on. Of course she has a special gift of sorts. It's a typical YA but its subtle differences made it very enjoyable.

The characters are developed well. Snow has a lot of internal thinking going on which made me laugh several times. The plot is well developed and the story has a nice flow. This is my first time reading anything by this author and this narrator. In fact I'm pretty sure I picked this up on an audio upgrade hunt. This story is a gem!

If you're looking for several hours of teen entertainment that isn't cookie cutter this is a great one to take a chance on.

One fantastic storyline.

If you could sum up Blood and Snow, Books 1-4 in three words, what would they be?

Awesome, Stupendus, Entertaining.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood and Snow, Books 1-4?

When Professor Pops held Snow and comforted her and it reminded her of her Dad and how long it had been since he held her like that.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Snow was in the girls bathroom and Dorian went in to check on her. He offered her some of his blood and Cindy walked in and almost caught them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the end of book 4 when Snow thinks she killed Gabe. I wanted to run screaming with her.

Any additional comments?

This is a wonderful series of books. It starts off a little slow but it picks up and gets awesome. Put on your headphones close your eyes and listen. You will be able to watch a movie behind your eyelids.
