About this listen

If confidence was a women’s size 20, then its name would have to be Aspen St. Andrews. The 31-year-old freelance journalist is living life on her own terms, except in one area. Love. She feels somewhat stuck in an engagement to a man that she once loved and that she decided to cohabitate with. They argue about her career as if it’s a hobby and Aspen is sick of it. As their engagement is on the verge of being dissolved, she decides to take a trip to the little town of Nome, Texas to interview ranchers about their livestock that are mysteriously dying. What she doesn’t expect, is to meet a man that threatens to change everything she found attractive in a man. Aspen couldn’t have these sorts of desires for a stranger who was tactless and rude. No matter how pitiful her relationship was, she was still engaged to be married.

Seven Storm Henderson is a man that knows what he wants. Until he finds it, or he stumbles upon it, he chooses to live life to the fullest. Being the youngest of seven children, he’s used to getting his way. He owns a full-service center and mechanic shop, and his family pretty much owns the entire town. However, he loves taking care of the animals in their pastures, especially the cattle. Women are willing to throw themselves at his feet, but he only wants one thing from them. Even with him being rude and nasty to most of them, they still continue to chase the Storm. One day, what he feels is his destiny, drops in his lap, but he soon realizes that she isn’t like most women he’s dealt with.

Storm and Aspen have a rocky start, because Storm can’t seem to speak intelligently enough to woo Aspen. He realizes that she may be too good for him, but that doesn’t stop his pursuit. Will Storm make the necessary changes to have Aspen all to himself or will Aspen make the necessary adjustments in her life to actually give Storm a chance?

It’s All About The Hendersons

Blindsided by Love was the story of Seven Storm Henderson and Aspen. Aspen was a woman from a well-to-do family in a dead-end engagement. Her fiancé didn’t support her career, and this caused Aspen to fall out of love. Storm was a small-town man whose family were the ones who owned and practically ruled their town of Nome. When Aspen goes to Nome to cover a story about the mysterious deaths of local livestock, she runs into Storm after getting a flat tire. And it’s lust at first sight. Once she finds out that the livestock involves Storm’s family, it leads her to spend time scouting the story with them and spending more time with Storm. This was an audiobook listen, and the narration was good. It was a little off-putting with the echo-style to indicate internal thoughts and phone calls, but the fact that it distinguished it from the narrative and dialogue meant, in part, it did what it was suppose to do. I loved the uniqueness of the story with black people owning farms and basically owning every financial asset in the town. It spoke empowerment! Aspen was a delight. Her confidence, maturity, and nurturing spirit was spot on. Storm, however, was overly rude and crass with everyone for no reason many times. Due to that, it took away from the love connection between him and Aspen. But his attitude was very necessary when he confronted Aspen’s ex-fiancé! This read is a good introduction to the Henderson crew with just enough twists, and I do mean TWISTS, with the other family members to draw you into the Henderson clique!

Loved the Story

This was my first book by Ms. Walters and I highly enjoyed it. Storm & Aspen’s story was hot; loved their chemistry. 🔥🔥 I absolutely loved that Aspen was plus-size and super confident in her skin!!! Looking forward to reading the rest of the Henderson stories!

Love the story but..

The edit of the audio could have been done better for the female. I think I’ll stick to reading the series since they are good

Taken by A Storm

The disclaimer was hilarious but much needed. The story has a few hidden gems you will truly enjoy.

Example of how great can go wrong

While I love this author’s work, the quality of this recording is horrible. There are parts where they sound very far away( not including phone scenes). Long pauses making me think there was a disruption. Initially the female narrator voice was not matching the energy of the story line. The male narrator did a great job and for me carried the story.

Great love story

This a great book about how one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure. I loved the fairytale love story. With its twist and turns at the end love won.

Hot and Romantic ❤

This is my second read by Monica Walters, and I must say I'm becoming a fan! This story was fun, exciting and steamy!
At times the female narrator sounded far away but her performance was still good. But baby! Drama (the male narrator) really brought Storms character alive and drew me into each scene!
10/10 would recommend!
