Acerca de esta escucha

Shame. It wounds us. It damages us. Or, for the few poor souls out there like me...it defines us. I'm the son of the devil himself - the most feared mob boss who ever lived. I was cursed from the moment I took my first breath. I hate him...and I never wanted to become him. And I sure as hell never, ever, wanted anything of his.

Until her.

My name is Ricardo DeLuca. There are two things you need to know about me. The first is that I'm in love with the girl who belongs to my father. The second is that it turns out I am my father's son after all.

My name is Lou-Lou, and you probably think I'm a bitch. You would be right - because I am. You think you know all there is to know about me because of the man I belong to. What you don't know is my past, because I'll never tell you. What you don't know is my shame. Because if you did, you'd be worse off than dead. You'd be broken.

There are two sides to every story.... This is ours.

A no holds barred Mafia audiobook that completely blew me away. And when I saw no holds barred, I mean it. There are triggers firing from all directions, so don’t get all puffy about it. But if you don’t mind, go all in because it’s an awesome story. An awesome story that you won’t be able to shut off.

It is told though dual POV but only a single narrator and that is where the only mishap lies. I feel the narration could benefit so much from a female narrator but Dorian Bane really does give it his all and pulls off such a good mafia... it is so hard to be mad about anything else.

From the straight up emotion to the cut throat Mafia lifestyle and the sex and blood and gore. It was perfect. Very true to what I would imagine.

Dark and Torturous

I've read the book which was fantastically written but the terrible narration made me DNF on the audio......It was THAT bad.

Terrible Narration

This would have been good story if it wasn't for male only narrator. The voice of the very deep male narrator sounded ridiculous for the h. it was like listening to a drag race of the Rupaul variety. Better off reading book than listening to it.

Good story terrible narration

Could not get used to the narrators accent. Story was also so so. Not interested in the second.

I loved this book so much. It captured me from the beginning and held onto my attention throughout it. Dorian made me feel like it was real. His accent and all.

A boy who had a rough childhood with a mother who never wanted him, admittin he was a mistake due to a unforseen circumstance. a father who didn't claim him until his early teen years, but wants him to follow in his footsteps as a Mob Boss.

A girl who abused (seems like the biggest understatement ever) by her father. Gets a chance to get away, but runs into nobody else bit the Mob Boss himself. Who saves her? if that's what you call it. Being the only man to care for her she confuses in love with being loved in my opinion. Awesome read.

This was Everything plus more.

What made the experience of listening to Blame It on the Shame the most enjoyable?

Dorian’s voice is superb for the male POV but not really for the female roles.

The story pulls at your heart strings and makes you really wonder if that’s how it is for real.

Lou-Lou or Luciana has had a very hard life and feels afraid to run away from her situation which seems to get worse until she starts to let Ricardo in. You really feel sorry for her life, but yet at times why doesn’t she reach out to Ricardo and fully let him in.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blame It on the Shame?

The night when Ricardo takes Lou-Lou to the field of dandelions just waiting for dreams to be wished upon for her birthday.

Which character – as performed by Dorian Bane – was your favorite?

Ricardo Deluca

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Nope, too emotional for one sitting

Any additional comments?

Can’t wait to see want happens to all the characters introduced in this book.

Intriguing story about life with the mob

HELLO Dorian Bane! WHOA!

So I discovered Ashley Jade late last year when I stumbled across her story, "Complicated Hearts". I can't lie how amazing it felt to discover an Indie author who writes light years better than most contracted authors. Anyway - I've been enthralled with her talent since. I decided to read her next popular series, "Blame It On The Shame" since the first book released on Audible and thank god because I really do prefer audio books.

And whoa. Dorian Bane did a phenomenal job. He was sexy, scary, and drove the emotion in the story. And hell... this story. It's brutal. Its gut wrenching. It's all the beauty and gore in the world wrapped into one book. It's a mafia story but that is really in the background for most of the book. It's really about the feelings and shame the characters experience. I'm almost done with book 3 and then am looking forward to reading "Blame It On The Pain". I can't wait for the rest of the books to be on Audible. Definite re-reads.

Whoa.

OMG! This book was so dark and twisted I could hardly wrap my head around it. I was addicted to this book and filled so much terrified anticipation. I couldn't get enough of Lou-Lou and Ricardo. I loved that he was never what his father wanted him to be. It made a lot of actions surprising. Lou-Lou had a terrible life and it was made worse by being stuck under the thumb of Bruno. But even when there's time you want to hate her, you can't help but want more for her after all she's been through because none of it was her fault. I am interested to see what will happen next with all the characters.

I didn't love the narrating. Dorian Bane was great voicing Bruno, Ricardo, and even the fighters. But I hated listening to Lou-Lou's voice. I was at first immediately turned off by the narrators voice, but it did grow on me after awhile. I liked how he pulled off the accents of the Male characters. But for the female characters their voices came off very whiney and I just didn't like it.
