Not Bad, Not Great

Listen to this book if you just can’t get enough of Michael Crichton! Otherwise don’t bother. Mildly interesting technical thriller with not-very interesting characters. Be sure not to buy it for the cover art because it has no relation to the story.

One of Crichton's better early works, but again s

I've been reading many of Crichton's early works. This one is better than some. This one is very dated politically and doesn't have a significant feminine character. While it suffers from some gaps in believability, it was an enjoyable listen.

A Thrilling Read

Loved the read as a source of Chrichton I hadn't heard yet. The voice, style and pace are too indicative of Chrichtons best to be slowed down by the dated subject or the overall pulp depth. Definitely a fun one for a day's read (or listen).

Very good early effort.

Michael Crichton has improved greatly over the years this was a very good early effort. I have enjoyed reading all of his books.

I can see why it's under a different name!

I'm sorry, but this story is just flat-out DULL! The most exciting part is the random naked woman plastered on the "cover". (Spoiler alert-- the only female character in this story is a fully-clothed girlfriend who gets all of 2 lines in a police interview.) If you like Crichton, then stick with the actual Crichton books.

Fast paced, explosive, and fun.

Looking for a quick read that doesn't require too much thought or attention, but also doesn't insult your intelligence? Look no further.

Binary is a fast paced thriller that will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can read. Easy to complete in 1 or 2 sittings. Great characters, strong plot, and a good villain male this a read that will keep you entertained from the first page to the last.

Apt Title for this Thrilling Work

This was another great early Crichton effort that was published under his pseudonym John Lange. This was a crime thriller about a political radical who planned on releasing nerve has in San Diego during the Republican convention and while the President was attending. A courageous State Department agent matches with with the madman. Twists and turns abound and though dated in some areas, it still holds up well today. Christopher Lane does a wonderful job narrating the action. You can see the early influences that will color his later techno thrillers. A great read/listen.

Pretty Good

A good story, told well, a satisfying listen. Like all such books that incorporate the latest technology, it is amusing to read them decades later.

Is This It?

Compared to other Michael Crichton stories, whether he was writing as Lange or not, this one could have been better.
