Hidden inside of one of the country's most exclusive colleges is a secret school for witches. And he's about to rock their world.

Crashing into an icy river after being hit by a drunk driver nearly killed Edwin Sawyer—and unlocked his hidden magical potential. His new power saved the lives of himself and his friends, but also brought him to the attention of Washington DC's most powerful wizards.

Now, Edwin's a student at Blackwater University, an invisible academy of magic hidden inside the campus of one of DC's most exclusive institutions of higher learning. Thriving in his new college life involves learning to cast spells, taming fantastic creatures—and balancing the affections of some of the school's most eligible coeds.

But dark forces lurk just beneath Blackwater's cultured exterior. Edwin's sudden arrival has stirred up secrets the college would rather forget, and those who want them to remain buried will stop at nothing to acquire Edwin's unique magical gifts.

Getting to Blackwater almost killed him. Surviving his first semester is going to be a hell of a lot of fun.

The lady narrator is terrible. No inflection in her voice whatsoever, just bland especially Courtney

Nothing, the same as other stories

So I think having another author helps DK. it didn't have spice in the first 3 chapters. They developed a relationship. The story is ok with a good balance. I'd actually recommend this series.

It has a great story

loved the unique class and the academy setting I thought it was cool how the mundane aspect was used

some people need to read their own work before publishing. That or at least take notes. what kind of retarded question is "I'm guessing you have never been to Blackwater before?"

word count requirements.

Mc does way too much self-deprecation in the beginning, way too much skepticism of his obvious reality, and a lot of corny cringe worthy banter. Then calling the Headmaster by his name and asking in front of everyone about the gifts because he still can't grasp why someone would actually be nice to him is just too pitiful. Nobody wants to hear that poor poor me sob story over and over. Then not understanding that you actually have to pass to stay in school like every school in history of schools is just too much stupidity for me.

Meh mc

Only 1 LI gets much fleshing out, every other potential LI pretty much just gets wet at the sight of him and that's where the explanation of their interest ends.
MC is going to a magical college, but you barely see anything involving learning magic. His general magic course has him learning 1 basic illusion spell, his BATTLE MAGIC course doesn't get a single scene or even the teachers name despite knowing for most of the book that someone might want him dead. Beast taming? 1 class scene. Curses? 1 class scene.

For a story about a guy going to a magical college to learn magic, he learns almost nothing at all the entire book. I think I need to stop reading Dante King books. They used to at least start interesting and fall off after a couple books, but now even the first book is falling flat. No clue why this one was so well rated.

No magic learned in a magic college story
