About this listen

Outcasts, black sheep, those who never fit in anywhere. Winter's Wrath belongs to them. Every single member of the band rejects the norm when it comes to music.

They won't settle when it comes to love.

Alder Trousseau, the lead guitarist in a band that owns his heart and soul, has always stood in the shadow of a man he hates. Braver "Brave" Trousseau, the voice of Winter's Wrath.

For the success of the band, they have to work past their animosity, but that's difficult when they have the same taste in women. And men.

Sex is a game to Brave. A game that might leave the people Alder cares for completely broken. Unless he claims them for his own.

If he steps out of the shadows, he'll have no choice to play. To win.

On stage, the drama drives the fans insane. The songs they sing are a blood-racing, body-moving war cry. But the very real battle taking place between the snares and the mic might tear the band apart.

Loved this book!

Josh Macrae's constant intake of breath was hard to get past - at first. I certainly appreciated it as he read one of the hottest and most beautiful love scenes I've read/heard in a long time.

This was a fantastic story - something I've come to expect from Bianca Somerland. I fell in love with all of these characters and can't wait for the next book in the series!

Narrator ruined this whole story for me!

The ONLY reason I continued to listen to the story was because I don't have time to sit down and read the book. The narrator made all the women's voices breathy and weak sounding. And almost every male voice besides Alder's was ridiculous 🙄! Brave spoke through his teeth like he was crazy mad even when that wasn't what the dialogue indicated, others sounded like they spoke out of the side of their mouth. Using reverb on the voice when Brave was on stage was silly. I found myself rolling my eyes SO many times. It really took away from the story. I barely made it through. I hope there is a new narrator for the next books in the series or I probably won't listen.

Hot and heavy

What did you love best about Backlash?

I loved the dynamics of the storyline

What did you like best about this story?

how the band was with each other

Which scene was your favorite?

When Jessie, Alder and Danika got together for the first time

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to but it was too long too.

Any additional comments?

When the narrator sang the song for Danika he was almost overpowered by the music. I would have like to hear the words to the song a little better but all in all he did a good job narrating the story

Winter's Wrath Book One

Winter's Wrath Book One

Danica Tallien is a model on the rise. When her manager decides Danica's image is too childish, Sophie pushes her to dirty it up a bit by getting noticed with some rock stars. On her way to a concert, Danica runs into a guy trying to avoid a nail salon and helps him with his nails instead. Alder Trousseau can't believe his eyes when he sees the girl who helped him earlier in the day dancing with his brother, Brave. This time, though, Alder will not let Brave win the day. He claims Danica and helps her with her image. Next thing they know, Danica and Alder's managers have set up a contract for Danica to work with the band. She may not know what she's getting into with a band that has so many personal demons.

Narration:
Joshua Macrae narrates this book with ease and emotion. Be ready for a smooth ride that includes an actual song (yes, he sings!).

If you're looking for a rocking good time with models, rock stars, roadies and a good old fashioned stalker, this is the book for you!

Horrible Narrator.

This story would have been si much better if it was not for the narrator. He made all the characters sound almost alike. You could not tell which one was talking, unless they said their name. Turned a great book into a disappointment.

Mixed feelings

The first half of this book is boring. I kept listening because I had spent a credit and wanted to see if it got better. It does for awhile and then it tanks again. It had a few hot scenes but not many. The author also tried to write songs. I love rock star stories but can not stand it when the author writes really bad songs and the narrator sings. Its always painful! Backlash is told from so many points of view it is hard to follow at times. It also contains several M/M scenes, one M/M/F and a couple M/F. The narrator is what kind of saves this book. He was easy to listen to. If you have gotten through everything on your wish list AND it is on sale I would give it a try. Don't spend a credit on it.
