Publisher's summary

His heart beats for the music. She's his favorite song. Lyric Cassidy knows a thing or two about bad boy rock stars with raspy vocals. In fact, her heart was just played by one. So when she takes an assignment as road manager for the world famous rock star, Wolf, she's prepared to take him on, full suit of heart-armor intact. Wolf is the sexy lead singer for the hottest rock band around with a line-up of guaranteed one night stands. Lyric Cassidy isn't one of them. That's fine with him. Women like Lyric come with fairytale expectations, so it should be easy to stay away. Too bad she's hot as sin with a fiery temper and a mouth that drives him wild. She's also got something to hide. Something he discovers. Something he wants.... Sharing a tour bus, neither of them are prepared for the miles of road ahead and the fierce attraction they feel toward one another - a dangerous combination.

❤️❤️❤️

I’d already read the novel, so I knew I loved it here’s my review for the actual novel:

As with all of KK Allen's work, Dangerous Hearts is pure poetry. It's much steamier than her other works (more so than I normally read) but the story line itself is true to her style. At the heart of the story is people. Broken people who somehow find a way to let the right person in.

This story deals with celebrity, and the cost it has in people's lives. Our culture is obsessed with them and we place them on pedestals, forgetting that they are human. They have their public faces, but we don't really know the 'real' them like we think. This book is a glimpse behind the curtain. We see how families are effected by their fame, specifically their children.

Wolf has chosen the life of celebrity he's a man with an earned reputation.

Lyric has chosen to hide her talents, to be a background support, until these unique individuals meet each other.

They have different outlooks on life and what they want from it, which leaves us with a cliffhanger of an ending. Lyric and Wolf were made for each other. But will they/won't they continue their lives at each other's sides? The next book is due out this summer, and I can't wait to find out!

Just some parting thoughts: Crowley... I don't like him, and I hope to see his comeuppance.

I want to see more of the band! And I want to see more of Lyric's parents. Come on Destined Hearts, I wanna know more!

And now for my review of the audio performance. They read smoothly and their voices complimented each other. They aren’t the voices I ‘heard’ in my head while reading, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment in the least. The only thing that stuck out to me was that the reader for Wolf’s chapters sounded a lot like the guy who narrates the ‘sad cat diaries’ on YouTube. It’s his voice inflection and timber I think. Again, this isn’t a bad thing at all, it just stuck in my mind!

Onto listening to Destined Hearts!

Yes, Yes, YES!!!

This was soooo good!!! I loved the storyline and was pulled through a turret of emotions. KK Allen was poetic in her writing. Then to mix her worlds with these narrators, Lynn Barrington and John Masterson. I haven’t heard Lynn read previously but her emotions were felt through her voice. I mean, you could feel what Lyric was feeling! Masterson was just as good. I’ll be honest, I didn’t enjoy his Lyric portrayals a lot but I expect that when a man is talking for a female that’s already being narrated in the book. Still, this took nothing away from this story. I wanted to beat down some people. Good job, everyone!!!

Making beautiful music together

I love a good rock star romance and this story hits all the right notes. I loved how Lyric was already in the music industry and wasn’t starstruck by Wolf, and I loved all the little connections there were between them. I really enjoyed most of the side characters and hope we get more of them in the next book of the duet. Also, I still have questions and need more information on several things that I hope are touched on in the next book. Finally, I think the narrators did a great job giving everyone a distinctive sound which made listening more enjoyable.

Love Lyric and Wolf

Audible review
I love a good rockstar romance and this one didn’t disappoint. This is my first book by K.K. Allen and I fell in love with Lyric and Wolf. I was captivated by this first part of their story. That cliffhanger had me reeling! Now I have to know the rest of their story.

REFRESHING LOVE STORY!!

The word I came up with while reading this story is very simple. But simple in the BEST WAY.
REFRESHING!! That's the first thought I had when I finished this book!!

**I finished this in ONE DAY by the way. I couldn't put it down!!!**

This is a NORMAL LOVE STORY! **NORMAL AND REFRESHING** Those words seem so plain but in reality they mean SO MUCH!! The normalcy, the flow, the writing. Is what makes this story so incredible. It's so realistic. they are two people that fell in love in such a normal way, at such a normal pace. That is what made this story so great in my opinion. It was refreshing to read (or listen in my case) a story that seemed so realistic. There wasn't a major big twist that made me roll my eyes and think "Yeah, that would never happen in real life."
Don't get me wrong. I love a romance full of twists and turns and outrageous storylines because they are entertaining. But this story just seemed so natural and it was great to read something so realistic.

I have quickly moved K.K. Allen to my top 10 favorite authors list. I can't wait to read more from her. Her writing is genuine, realistic and beautiful. I could really feel the love growing between the characters, the trust building and their hearts breaking!

FIVE GREAT BIG STARS!! This is a MUST READ for romance lovers.

Obsessed!

I had never read any of K.K. Allen's books. So I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I started Dangerous Hearts. And now, I'm completely obsessed with the story, and I can't wait to read the second book of the series. It's the perfect romance, one of those books you can't simply put down because you need to know what happens next. And the narration by Lynn Barrington and John Masterson is great!

Lyric Cassidy has known the music business all her life. The daughter of an 80's rock star and pop singer, she loves music too much to stay away from the stage and the rock scene. She has made a name for herself as a successful road manager, a role that allows her to be connected to music without being in the spotlight.

Running away from her ex-boyfriend and with a broken heart, Lyric jumps back onto the road as the road manager of Wolf Chapman. She is convinced work will help her heal and focus. After all, Wolf is the lead singer for the hottest rock back in the country. He is not looking for a relationship (never has) and only does one-night stands. But destiny is a powerful thing.

I LOVED.. LOVED.. LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND

Wow.. this is a way above average rocker romance.. it’s a slow burn drenched in sweet delicious feels.. ones that make you swoon and sigh as two damaged hearts find their way to each other. Nobody knows that secretatively Lyric writes songs.. and she’s been doing it for years. She’s estranged from her absentee famous parents in the music world. She’s just got out of a two year relationship with a cheating ex boyfriend who is a rockstar, she’s hiding something and she’s the new Tour Manager with a band whose bad boy lead singer Wolf is a droolworthy sexy tempting rock star. Wolf’s a one and done kinda guy never asking or wanting more than casual stepping stones.. but the more he gets to know his impressive new Tour Manager, the more he wants her.. trouble is Lyric has walls around her heart.. and they’re nearly as thick as Wolf’s.

So there’s a wonderful pace to this dual POV love story that takes its time to fully unfurl.. deliciously teasing, tempting and revealing its magical wares in well-crafted chapters. There’s layers to the characters, layers to the compelling story and layers of everything I love in a rocker romance. There’s a push/pull relationship that builds and builds in strength and oozes with sexual tension.. until passion, sex, touching words and romance take over. However, as we all know, if it’s a Duet then there’s bound to be some kind of drama that’ll close book 1.. but I so didn’t want it to happen to Lyric and Wolf who’d both finally overcome their emotional hurdles and let each other in. Neither one of them did anything wrong.. but that didn’t stop the sh:t from hitting the fan.. and the fallout looks bleak.

Worth a credit? Oh boy YES YES YES. It’s after 3.00 am right now and I’m oh so so very tempted to dive straight into book two because this Duet is just that compelling with its perfect storyline and perfect narration.. especially Lynn Barrington’s awesome voice as Wolf. I fought hard with myself to pace and savor this tempting morsel slowly instead of feasting and devouring it in one sitting.. but my inner groupie won out as she mentally screamed “I love you Wolf” and sinfully threw her panties in the air.
