The cast is excellent and it makes sense

If you're into found family then this is a good fiction. Content warnings are a bit high on this one so listen before you take it to your kids, but this is one of my recent favorites.

Pretty good

If you like a D&D this has a very close feel to listening to someone retelling their starter scenario. I really enjoyed this story and the Narrator was pretty good as well. I will say this is the first LitRPG ive listened too so it took a moment to get use to the stat dumps that happened periodically through the story but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

A Much Needed Breath of Fresh Air for the LITRPG genre

Fast paced story telling without losing the depth of characters, an interesting world built around Greek mythology, and a central protagonist who I don't want to strangle everytime they make a decision? What more could a reader want!

If you're a fan of LITRPG but feel that the genre has gotten a bit stale for you (I know I have) this book is well worth a listen.

the halfway through review!

13 hours left in the book and I can't think of anything bad that stands out to mark points off. plenty of good points stand out though: Archne's arrival in the world is an interesting mystery, the elves being just slightly inhuman at times is cool, I like the interesting takes of mythological/fantasy creatures, and the item he gets that's probably an overpowered artifact didn't immediately make him awesome. Archne truly has to struggle to survive here and I appreciate him not immediately becoming the master of this new world.

Checks every box

Usually I prefer waiting for a book to get more reviews before purchasing. However, I wasn't let down. Arche Features OP weapons, a blend of classic and unique skills, and a protagonist who puts things together relatively quickly [without having to ask "What do you mean?" 1000X a chapter]. There are some well-developed relationships that add depth. What else? I don't know. It was good. I'm definitely adding this to my list of series to follow.

Great Listen!

I enjoyed it from beginning to end! Was a interesting and new addition to LitRPG. Engaging story and likable characters. My only complaint (and it is a small one) is that the made up days of the week that were listed as a passage of time stamp at the beginning of every chapter made NO sense. It also could be because I wasn't reading and only listening, but I regularly had no idea which day was when.

A good start to a promising series.

The author does a good job of both character development and world building. Plenty of action and the novel comes to a satisfying conclusion while setting up for future installments. I don’t have to expand on the narrator. He’s a veteran and knows his business. Having someone like Naramore as the narrator is a good sign that the author is being supported by his publisher, so we can expect good things. I’ve had personal interactions with the author and I don’t believe he’s going to pull a George R R Martin and leave us hanging. I’ll be following this series. To answer the most important question; is it worth a credit? Yes it is.

A solid litRPG adventure

Solid writing and interesting characters. Lots of action and intriguing world building. I don't know much about Greek mythology but there are lots of references that I'm sure those more well versed on the topic will enjoy. The narrator is awesome.

Smart Adult MC

I’ve read quite a few litrpg’s and it seems like for the majority, the main characters stupidity is often their biggest enemy. So this book was a nice change of pace. Arcky(27) despite his handicap has a good head on his shoulders and while he does make a few understandable mistakes he never does anything that makes we want to facepalm.

The supporting cast is also well written and without spoiling anything avoids a lot of tropes that exist in these kinds of story’s preferring to take the less trodden paths. The story overall is still new and mostly revolves around the MC trying to understand his new world and himself but starts to unfold more in the later half of the book.


My only complaint is the lack of perspective we get from the side characters. But all in all I really enjoyed this book. 5/5
