Acerca de esta escucha

If he hopes to survive, he must discover a whole new kind of magic.

Ekavir is a hardworking lumberjack's son. It isn't his fault crows speak in eldritch voices when he walks through the forest, or that his blood-red eyes leave the village kids shaking in their shoes.

He might be the latest incarnation of a dreaded god known as the Primordial, but he never asked for that. He doesn't even know.

When knights arrive hunting for the Ender of Realms, Vir loses his idyllic life along with his chance to be anything else. To grow strong enough to survive, he'll have to become the Primordial.

There's just one problem: Vir can't do magic. Not even the simplest spells to light a fire or conjure a breeze.

To take back control of his destiny, Vir will have to find a new kind of magic. He'll have to forge his own path, and he'll have to do it while running, fighting, and clawing for survival.

It might be that Vir is destined to live out his days without magic...Or maybe his brand of magic just defies all the known rules.

Don't miss this epic new progression fantasy from bestseller Vowron Prime. Featuring loads of action, detailed worldbuilding and magic system, unforgettable characters, cultivation elements, LitRPG elements, weak-to-strong progression, a rational MC, and so much more.

The story is good, maybe movie worthy Idk but I really hates when a MC doesn’t learn from their mistakes. With that being said, he makes less mistakes as the story progresses and it gives you the satisfaction of seeing a scared child growing into a lethal but not OP man.

Let me first say I rarely write reviews. When I do, it’s because I’m captivated.

Performance: First, I only found this book through browsing Heath Miller’s other work - primarily from ‘He who Fights Monsters’. It’s a similar character archetype, but LitRPG, and a very popular series at that. I burned thru all 10 books before I realized it and let me say, I know Heath can perform better, that’s why I give 4/5. I'm unsure if it was the product studio, or blended interpretations of characters, but I know he able to accurately depict a character and I can immediately know who it is before the story tells me. But that only means the next narration could be much more impactful, emotional, visceral.

Story: I was a little lost and confused at the prologue, but I surmise that was the intent. Slowly and steadily information is released to the audience that made me go back and listen to the prologue again (about halfway into the story) after everything had clicked. This wasn’t a bad thing in my opinion, the story is primarily told thru Vir’s eyes so it makes sense how the pieces fall into place gradually. However, there were brief moments where the story is told thru other’s eyes - I would REALLY like to see more of this in the next book(s). It’s always interesting to see how other characters see the world, and other people, thru their eyes. Especially if it’s thru some major being like a God, or powerful person. There was a comment that said Vir was a weak-willed man, or a coward - I couldn't disagree more. This dude is a straight up badass, and he's only going to grow more into his identity.

Overall: I'm really glad I found this hidden gem of a story. I've tried sampling Vowron Prime's other series "Magnus", but this called to me more. And boy, did I go thru a roller coaster. There was a lot of suspense, drama, action, and most importantly - power fantasy. Progression feels good, visceral even, when done right - and this is done right. That being said, I still believe there could be more emotion involved both from a story-telling perspective and a narration perspective, but the meat of it is there. Also, I would like to see more of the world, so far I only really know three areas (biomes?) of forest, desert, and ashland. Overall, very well done. I hope to see more. Please DO NOT rush this story - it has a LOT of potential.

My only caveat: In my opinion, this initial book could have been a little longer. I would have liked to see much more world building, character building, and really building up the hype of the power progression fantasy.

TL:DR: Good book, good power-progression fantasy, great future potential, good narration. If you like Heath's main work on He who Fights Monsters, you'll like this - vice versa.

A Hidden GEM!
