About this listen

To win one world, he'll have to journey to another....

Steven Drokharis has done well to survive on Battle World, a planet designed to murder him and everyone he loves. In order to defeat the Zothoric, he needs both an ancient artifact and an army of allies on a distant world. With the help of the mysterious Shadow Archer, he'll find himself on a quest that strains the limits of his imagination. It certainly isn’t going to be easy on Chastity and Prudence Wayne—the Texas machine-gun twins never signed on to search for lost elves. Good thing Mouse is there to provide the sarcasm and Uchiko the arrows.

Hunted by old foes and new, Steven and his Escort will be tested in every way possible. All the while, the demon queen Zothora inches closer, preparing to snap close her diabolical trap.

Disclaimer: Alaska Kingdom (American Dragons, Book 8) is a shoot-em-up action-adventure urban-fantasy novel that is not intended for those under the age of 18. This novel contains swearing, violence, and a harem of beautiful shape-shifting women whom the hero regularly sleeps with—and he does so gladly.

It good i like it

The Narator swap can be a bit jarring to get use too at first, but shes good and while im still getting accustomed to the voices as im accustomed to the old ones, she never the less does a great job.

Story reader change

I very much like the book series but unfortunately I believe the new reader falls very short on capturing the story. This particular reader was unable to hold my attention it’s sad that they had to change hopefully I’ll be able to finish the book one day

New actor voice

The new actor voice doesn’t fit the story. After more than 7 books with the old actor, audible should have found a way to continue with the old voice. Terrible difference

New narrator

The change in narrator ruined the story.
A good narrator gives each character a unique personality. You can't change that several books in and expect people to be OK with it. I will NOT be continuing this series on audible.

For the love of biscuits

The author totally went limp on this novel. Narrator is talented truly, but wrong for this series. If it is not broken don’t try to fix it . Next series search is now under way due to this one going south.

Oof why the narrator change….

The story was fine, and the ending was satisfying. The change in narrator really did a number on the overall feel of the book. It’s not her fault, I’m sure she is doing her best and that she is great at her craft. In this case it’s a matter of having established characters that had specific voices and nuances that she just can’t replicate. The dialogue can be a little jarring to get through at first, but she does a fine job overall.

How to kill characters

You never change readers in a series. How do you turn a sarcastic character into a cheerleader. Texas turns into California. Name pronunciation is changed totally killed the book for me and I love the series I have listened to most of the books 2 to 3 times. This last book just killed it.

Couldn’t finish

I loved this series but I don’t like the new narrator. I kinda feel robbed because of the long wait for this book to release and then the narration fails. It almost changed the characters. As in who they are. I’m not a fan of this one. Probably done with the series. I couldn’t even finish it.
