Great for Beginners

Harper’s approach is compassionate and realistic, and I really appreciated how she focused on adapting strategies to fit your unique ADHD brain. The section on workplace challenges was particularly helpful for me. However, if you’ve already read a lot about ADHD, you might find that much of the information isn’t completely new. Still, it’s a great resource, especially for those who are just beginning to understand their ADHD.

Validating and empowering

This book felt like a warm hug and a wake-up call all at once. It validated so many feelings I’ve had—especially the frustration of trying and "failing" with popular ADHD systems. Instead of blame, it offered understanding and tools that match the way my brain really works. Highly recommend to anyone who feels like they’ve been spinning their wheels.

The real talk i needed

So many ADHD books are too clinical or preachy—this one was real. The tone is honest, encouraging, and refreshingly down-to-earth. It helped me feel less alone and gave me actionable ideas I could immediately try, without pressure to be perfect. It's now my go-to ADHD resource.

Gentle, Empowering, and Insightful

Harper approaches ADHD with compassion, not judgment. She offers permission to stop trying to “fix” yourself and instead work with your strengths. The audiobook made me cry, laugh, and most importantly—hope again.

Incredibly Helpful!

This book helped me understand my ADHD in a way that no other book has. Instead of trying to "fix" myself, I now see that I just need different strategies. The book covers so many important areas—work, relationships, emotions—and gives practical ways to manage them. The narration by Marissa DuBois was engaging and easy to follow. I’ve already recommended this audiobook to several friends with ADHD!

A Survival Guide for ADHD Brains

I’ve listen a lot of ADHD books, but none have been as helpful as this one. Harper explains why traditional systems fail ADHD brains and provides realistic alternatives that actually work. Her approach is kind, non-judgmental, and incredibly validating. The section on workplace struggles and advocating for yourself was especially eye-opening for me. I feel more confident now, knowing that I don’t have to force myself into neurotypical systems to succeed. This book will change lives!
