Acerca de esta escucha

One little drop to soil her garment. One little drop to cleanse her soul.

Abigail was born free, but when her parents die, she's sold into slavery to the family of a Roman soldier in Jerusalem. Fortunately, the Visibullis family is kind, and as years pass, she's proud to serve them. But Abigail's beauty attracts unwanted attention when their son, Jason, returns from Rome. She doesn't dare to defy him . . . but how can she ever love him as he demands?

As Jerusalem boils with political unrest and the stories of a rabbi named Jesus who snags Jason's attention, Abigail struggles to find her new place in the family. But then tragedy strikes, and her world is shattered. Desperate for justice, Abigail attends a trial for the criminal responsible—Barabbas. She instead finds herself in the path of Jesus, condemned to die in Barabbas's place. And when a stray drop of the rabbi's blood falls upon her, she knows Jason had been right. This Man really is the Son of God.

Only in the wake of His touch can she find what her heart has always longed for. Love, in the place she least expected to find it . . . and freedom for a soul that had resigned itself to slavery.

Lovely biblical fiction with amazing twists!

I LOVED this book! I loved how long it was, I loved feeling the excitement of getting back to the book and falling into the beautiful story! I loved Abigail and Jason and Titos! I loved witnessing Jesus's redemptive power in all these peoples stories and the way God used their experiences for His glory! Amazing book! One I'd buy as a hard copy for my modest library!

one of my fav books / disappointing narration

just started this book, it's one of my favorites. I've read it multiple times. I'll stick with with it because I know I love the story but it's a bit grating with all the breathy lilting...

Worth getting used to narrator.

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to listen to this one, but speeding up to 1.2 made it sound closer to a normal speed.

Too sexualized, not good narration.

Sped-up narrator helped. It became too sexualized for this type of story genre. Ugh! I wanted to like it.

Amazing!!!

I have recently discovered this author and this book was by far her best. The story line and plot left you on the edge of your seat. Love this book and it will be one of my favorites.

The narrator could have been better.

There were a few adult themes but they were handled respectfully and without explicit exposure.

The best book I’ve read!

First off, I love how long it was. It was like watching a movie that continued as I love long movies.

The story had me guessing the whole time when i usually would have figured out the plot line quickly, but not this time.

Really a perfect story in so many ways. I had to get used to the narrator and her voice dragged but in the end it was okay-ish.

Great historical novel.

This story captured me from the start. It was a new spin for me, on the traditional presentation of Hebrew Scriptures. The first century peoples were creatively captured. The tension between the Israelites and the Roman government’s forces occupying Jerusalem was very well crafted. Having the inter racial marriages with the differences in the two nations laws concerning the ownership of slaves, civic laws, faith traditions, and prejudices made for great conflict. The story was well written and thought provoking. Great character building and transformation. I’m moving on to the next book in the series. Worth a point for sure.

Great story!

The plot held my attention or I wouldn’t have been able to get past the dramatic and distracting narration.

Very interesting premise.

I like the book but the narrator makes me cringe. Her constant lisp at the end of every word and her sing-song delivery, which is not how people normally speak, was so distracting I want to return the book. I’m in a few chapters and am trying to ignore her voice but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to finish the book.

good story but awful narration.

A good story but the narration is very dull and I will not be listening to the second book but will read it instead to avoid Sarah Marry.
