About this listen

Cass Daniels and rocker Tucker White are finally replacing guitar feedback with wedding bells as Teresa Mummert concludes her gritty New York Times and USA Today best-selling trilogy. But now it’s Eric’s turn for love. Will the band’s brooding drummer ever let go of his troubled past - and the one girl he can’t forget?

Thanks to the MTV Video Music Awards, Damaged is suddenly famous. But as their star rises, drummer Eric begins to spiral out of control. Haunted by the tragic events of his childhood, he gets into fights after gigs and flies off the handle when the paparazzi approach. Drinking numbs the pain - but his behavior could cost him his rock star dreams.

Only one person has ever gotten Eric to open up about his life. Sarah, the lead singer of Filth, has a confident façade that masks her own painful secrets. But Sarah’s tumultuous relationship with her bandmate and boyfriend Derek forces her to keep Eric at a distance. As their friendship grows into something more, Eric has to find a way to forget his tortured past before it jeopardizes his only chance for a happy future.

A little too fluffy and candy coated for me.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, the main character, Eric, is a wimp and after a while you lose respect for him.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not this.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrators were good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not unless the character of Eric would stop being called "E" - that is the most ridiculous thing I heard in this book and only if he get a backbone!

Wonderful trilogy!

A very engrossing tale with wonderful characters and a story line that keeps you listening. Although it deals with some sad issues, love finds a way through to a great ending for the characters. I look forward to more works by this author.

Ending the Series, Beautiful

This review will contain spoilers as it is the third in the series. Please do not read this until reading the first two books, so as not to give any secrets away in advance.

Well, this feels like it was a good wrap up of the series. We are left here with two couples Eric & Sarah, and Tucker & Cass.

The couples are not all they seem to be and the writer does an excellent job in including scenarios where the four are together, as well as focusing on the separate pairings. Blissful Tucker & Cass and good friends/enemies Eric & Sarah.

While one duo is "playing a couple" the other set a couple is trying to work things out.

This is, again, a great ending to the series, though I wouldn't be hurt if Teresa Mummert continued on with them.

I really enjoyed this series and have it high up on my listen again list!

The narration by Sebastian York & Grace Grant was perfection. Two seasoned and wonderful performers. It was a joy to listen to them.

Mature scenes & strong language.

Best One in the Series

This might be my favorite book in the series. I like Eric and Sarah more than Tucker and Cass. There's still all that drama and angst, sex and music but these two characters are easier to invest in. Although Eric and Sarah’s childhood stories broke my heart, their possibility of an HEA filled me with hope. There was an undeniable connection that makes readers know the characters are right for one another. The fact that everyone around them knew they were in love before Eric and Sarah admitted it themselves adds a fun element to the story.

Though a few lighter moments were sprinkled in, Eric and Sarah's story is not light. It's dark, brooding and angst-filled. But the ending makes all those darker moments worth the read.
