About this listen

To Whom It May Concern,

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soul mates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soul mates.

When I arrived in Edgewood, Wisconsin, I didn't plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I started senior year at my new school, I wasn't prepared to call him Mr. Daniels, but sometimes life happens at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Our love story wasn't only about the physical connection. It was about family. It was about loss. It was about being alive. It was silly. It was painful. It was mourning. It was laughter. It was ours.

And for those reasons alone, I would never apologize for loving Mr. Daniels.

So, so many feels!!! 💜💜💜

Though I didn't love the narrators I so, so loved the story. It was Heart breaking from the beginning, but everyone promised it would be okay. Every character touched a part deep in my Heart and soul. I'm so thankful to have the chance to read such inspiring words and that now my Heart has been mended!!!!

Loving this audio

This was a breathtaking audio. First from the author . It’s has hearstopping moments . Heartbreaking and love . Both Narrators were good they had a clear voice and strong . They brought the story to life .

This story is about Daniels and Ashley.

Ashley is devested by her loss. But she knows she must move on , she’s at her senior yr when Ashley runs into Danlies .
Both Daniels and Ashley connect , they connect on a soul ssearching way .
There is a problem that both have to bypass . It’s a no no between a student and a teacher

Grab it and see if both Ashley and Daniels find a way

Clever but still heartfelt

The references to Shakespeare mixed with song lyrics plus the characters plus the narrators equaled a one-day book for me. What rock have I been under in regards to Brittainy Cherry’s books? One of my favorites this year.

Love Love this book!

It made me laugh and it made me cry harder. Quite possibly the best tear-jerker book I've ever read(or heard) I'm hoping to see the story continue thru other characters finding their way.

Wonderful

For a book listed as taboo romance, you think it's going to be gross and filled with pedophilia but this is actually a love story and it is so sweet and tender. Yes, this is a taboo romance with teacher/student but they are only a few years apart and both are of legal age. They meet before they know he is her teacher and form a bond that is intense and loving. Then they find out he is the teacher and life gets complicated while they try to stay away from one another.

I really enjoyed this one!

LOSS, LONGING, LIFE.. & FORBIDDEN LOVE

A breathtaking NA romance as 22 yr old Daniel and 19 yr old Ashlyn knew what it was like to grieve - and grieve hard.. as the rest of the world laughed and got on with their own lives.. unaware of the turmoil, the sorrow - and the guilt that consumed these broken and very complex people. However, a chance meeting would bring these two lost souls together and like would find like through mutual attraction, through their shared grief, through sizzling chemistry.. and through Shakespeare's meaningful words. But unfortunately Fate stepped in and threw a major spanner into their budding intense relationship and the reality of their impossible situation would create a tsunami that would bring drama, angst, many tears and much heartbreak. And, as the deadly waters receded, the emotional wreckage that was left behind could only be healed by time.. so they sacrificed their todays now for a chance of tomorrows sometime in the years ahead.

This is NOT a happy feel good romance - it's gritty, it deals with death, grief and all that comes with the premature loss of loved ones - either by disease or by the actions of another - but the result is the same.. a gaping whole, a shattered heart and broken dreams. However, it IS a beautiful NA love story that'll touch your soul, break your heart and then piece it back together again to make a story that was compelling, beautiful and unforgettable too. The sex wasn't over done and the tender words shared between these star-crossed lovers sears your soul.. as does the gay step-brother's dilemma of coming out and all the hurtful heartbreaking scenes that followed. Daniel was broken, damaged, gorgeous, thoughtful, caring, sexy and the Lead Singer of Romeo's Quest and Ashlyn was lost, lonely, alone, abandoned and broken too. Together they healed and found the other half of their soul. Dual POV, great narration and a storyline that had a few surprises up its sleeve that I never saw coming.

Worth a credit? I don't usually like NA but I do like Brittainy Cherry and she absolutely floored me with this unique, moving, memorable and very creditworthy listen.
