Delightful!

I was not only eager to start a new series by Tonya Kappes, but delighted to see Karen Savage as the reader! I discovered her on Librovox, and she read all the Jane Austen classics to me, which became favorites!

Anyway, this book is fun, fanciful and charming! I found the mystic theme enchanting, and can't wait to listen to the rest!

A Charming Crime

A new series for me & I like book 1. The MC, June Heal, craves Ding Dongs consistently throughout book 1. Interesting.? June makes & sells herbal remedies as did her mother & has been trying to experiment with various potions to try & help herself with nightmares but has not found a formula that works. She has a cat named Prince Charming that she adores. After the death of her mother, June is offered a job in a village called Whispering Falls & decides to accept it. She soon discovers there are many things she doesn’t know about her deceased parents & herself & she begins to seek answers. Soon she wonders if moving to a new place was really a good idea as she’s warned her life is in danger. A fair start to a new series!

Fun

A lot of weird and exciting characters, good pot, twists, exceptional writing. I enjoyed this book.

Lots of Twists and Turns

Very enjoyable storyline. The characters personalities grew resulting in a desire to find out what was going to happen next. Tanya Kappes is a wonderful author able to write stories completely different from one another. As an avid reader who consumes books, I appreciate Tanya’s ability to use a great vocabulary seeing no need to use vulgar and trashy dialog. So many authors take the low road and take the Lord’s name in vain; THANK YOU Tanya for taking the high road! Certainly hooked me. Now, I’m off to the next audiobook in the series!

Good premise but..

Never managed to draw me in. Performance was good and the story idea was good. I have hundreds of audiobooks and this is only the second one that I have not been able to finish.
