What will it take to run a marathon in less than two hours? The world's fastest times for the marathon have been dropping since the distance of 26.2 miles was made official nearly one hundred years ago. But after a noticeable decline that occurred for a half century, the times, while still edging lower, have stalled several minutes north of two hours for the past decade. For the first time, 1:59 examines what it will take for an elite distance runner to go subtwo hours.

Great listen!
This audible is a valuable resource that I am so glad I listened to while looking for a book for my elderly mom. My mom has had multiple health issues and, overall, has limited mobility. It addresses the health and safety concerns that often arise as we age, offering hope and practical solutions. The book emphasizes that these conditions are not inevitable but can be prevented. It provides simple exercises that can be done at home and insights on achieving a better mood and motivation.
I was particularly interested in the sections on improving balance, mobility and the importance of nutrients and hydration during exercise. The book instills the belief that it's never too late to prioritize fitness and offers guidance on setting exercise goals. I'm confident that this book will empower my mom to lead a more active and fulfilling life.

What I appreciate most is the practical approach. It offers simple exercises that can be done at home, ensuring convenience and accessibility. The emphasis on better mood, motivation, balance, and mobility resonates with my desire to lead an active and fulfilling life.
The book also highlights the importance of proper nutrition and hydration while exercising, providing valuable insights for maintaining overall well-being. It addresses common concerns and obstacles faced by seniors, debunking the notion that it's too late. It's never too late!!

Excellent Book!
This book is like having a coach right there with you. The best thing about this book is the way it describes in detail how to do each exercise as well as the PDF file that’s included to show you how to do the exercises. As I get older, I know I don’t move as often as I should and I’m just not interested in joining a gym. This book is all I need. The author also covers balance which is especially important as you age. I also like the fact that the author also covers nutrition as well. A great book if you’ve been meaning to get moving but just don’t know where to start.

Get your mindset right for fitness
I loved many things about this book. I loved that it deals with the question of aging and what you can expect as well as how to exercise without hurting yourself. I enjoyed the chapter on hydration and nutrition. The exercises are practical and useful. But mostly, I loved the chapter on getting your mindset right. I feel like that's usually the toughest part about getting fit. This is such a good book. Very highly recommend it.

Excellent Advice For The Older Generation
This audiobook is full of great advice that older people can listen to and apply to their own lives. The author does a great job of not just explaining exercises that could help someone increase their longevity, but he also does a deep dive into diet and supplementation that can keep us healthy for longer.
To be honest, I think this book could be a good fit for anyone, even the younger generations. The author clearly has some type of scientific background and does an amazing job at breaking down scientific studies and discussing them in a way that makes it accessible to everyone.

Aging bodies isn't inevitable!
This is a well-rounded approach to senior fitness. It's not just about a few exercises. This book shares great information and techniques for our minds and bodies. As a senior myself, I found this book very helpful -with tips on motivation, stretching, balance, posture, resistance training, aerobics - all the things that tend to decline if we don't take good care!
