About this listen

100 Grand took the world by storm, but the family-made band wasn’t always mega-famous. Once upon a time, they were just a bunch of siblings with nothing more than hope, prayer, and desperation to save the life of one of their friends. When Caden Grand suggests they enter Band Wars, a national competition for up and coming bands, the family joins together to help him succeed.

His best friend needs money for her medical bills, and the payout for taking third prize is just enough to get her by. No one ever expects them to win...but they do, and it rocks their world.

A fictional memoir told by the 100 Grand frontwoman Olive Grand! If you love happily ever after (for everyone), strong family bonds, amazing friendships, and the power of hope, then this book is for you!

Bubbly Contemporary Story

I enjoyed this book in spite of the rose-colored romance stories. The story was about a family who decided to help a friend with her medical bills by forming a band. I liked the relationships between the family members. I appreciated the theme of familial bonds that percolated beneath the surface material. I liked the unusual format with one of the characters writing a story within the story. Amanda Soha's narration was great, and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Large Tight Knit Family Drama/Romance

Parents- PG 13- appropriate for middle school and up
Language- none
Violence- PG- nothing graphic, sibling and jealousy fights
Sexual Content- PG, crushes and romance, **trigger warning- rupee and attempt kidnapping/rape but nothing with any detail

Crazy large family (15 kids), really tight knit and so many romances with so many siblings. A family that comes together to help raise money for a really sick friend by starting a band to win money in a competition... The story is written as an interview for a book about the band 100 Grand. Overall a really fun and sweet story.

Narrator- 4⭐- 1.15x speed, pleasant voice and pretty good differentiations

Lovely!

The Grands are a very large family who make beautiful music together. There are fifteen Grand children; five adopted, nine IVF and one surprise! Their friends are pretty much family, too, and their house is a non-stop hive of activity. This is a well-devised story, written in diary form with interviews and monologue through Olivia Grand. The premise of the story is that the Grands have a family band and they become the focal point of the story when their friend, Avery, is in need of their help. Ryan is heartbroken because he likes her so much and he just found out that she's in need of a transplant because her kidneys are failing and her family doesn't have that kind of money. One of the triplets, Kaden, has heard that there's a Battle of the Bands coming up and, even if they come in 3rd place, that's $100,000 to contribute to her medical care. The story unfolds as Olivia tells her own story and interviews each of her siblings for theirs. There's not a lot of angst, but I can tell you that Olivia and Jude had a story that made me want to slap him up, until I learned the truth. This is a story of family, fun and faith with a HEA for all! The narration is very well-done by Amanda Soha. Her dynamic voice and steady pace bring each of the characters to life.

Fun Listen

I really enjoyed the whole premise of the story though I did feel through out that I was missing something and had to go back which made it a little difficult to follow but overall it was a pretty sweet and fun story. Narration is done well and kept it light and entertaining.
