Story
One rainy night in the woods outside of Portland, Dr. Victoria Peres is called to the site of a haunting crime scene. Six beautiful young girls - all in white dresses and arranged in a perfect circle - have been left for dead. Only one girl, fighting for her life at a nearby hospital, has survived the carnage. Things get stranger still when Victoria and the police discover that the disturbing arrangement of the bodies - as meticulous as it is mysterious - is straight from the pages of a decades-old cold case.

Story
Baseball star Will Vandergriff knows any number of women who would happily pretend to be his girlfriend. In a last-ditch effort to restore his good standing with his team's higher-ups, he enlists the help of his neurotic, goody-goody neighbor. Schoolteacher Olivia Pratt might be a bit quirky and a bit of a loner, but she's a lot more inviting than she knows. Will hopes that bringing her to his next game might revamp his reckless reputation and help get his career back on track. The plan works a little too well, however.

Story
At first, they struggle to escape. Then a torrent of blows rains down upon their bodies until their eyes cloud over in final agony. The killer shows no remorse - just a twisted need to witness each victim's last terrified moments. Public defender Rachel Wainwright is struggling to reopen a decades-old case, convinced that the wrong man is in prison. Homicide detective Deke Morgan doesn't want to agree. But if Rachel's hunch is correct, whoever fatally bludgeoned young, beautiful Annie Dawson 30 years ago could be the source of a new string of brutal slayings.

Great storyline

I loved the character development. The author’s description makes you feel like you know them. The main characters start as being very harsh. I didn’t like them. As the story develops they start to soften. The back story is about deceased former parents control over the their adult children which contributes to current beliefs. Original storyline. Good book.

I have loved all of Charlie Donlea’s previous books and saved an audible credit for this new one as soon as I learned of its upcoming release. It did not disappoint. I spent a whole day listening and I enjoyed the original storyline with twists and turns, I just couldn’t stop. Thank you Mr Donlea for a day of entertainment. I can’t wait for your next book.

Disgraced, ex-detective Harper Adams is perfectly content wallowing at rock bottom. But everything changes when she gets chilling news. A childhood friend’s daughter is missing...and it’s eerily reminiscent of Harper’s sister’s kidnapping and murder two decades ago. Not her business. Except with the police fumbling the case at every turn, Harper realizes she might be the only one who can save the girl. And she might need the help of James Malcolm, a former crime boss, to do it.

Kate Connelly may have found the perfect work-from-home Mommy job: private investigator. After all, the hours are flexible, she can bring the baby along on stake-outs, and if you’re going to be up all night anyway, you might as well solve some crimes. But when a body is pulled from San Francisco Bay that may be her brother-in-law, Kate must crack the case faster than you can say “diaper rash” in order to keep her family together.

John Grisham has been my favorite writer since 1993 when I spent a considerable amount of time in the air with nothing to do except read. A small group of engineers from my company were on assignment At another location. We found The Firm and then A Time To Kill. The books were passed around the 15 of us and all became fans. This book has familiar characters but a different plot than his other books. Read it and it will take you on trips around the world.
