Story
On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges. These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra.

Want to like it more

It’s a great idea for a “home-brew” chapter and I think that’s why people love em. There are parts of great writing but the conclusions felt incredibly rushed.
Shogo is my new favorite VA for GW books (maybe not over Keeble though) but why were there no pauses between sections? Was really confusing until I realized what was happening.

Story
Of all the Legiones Astartes, the White Scars of Jaghatai Khan remain the most enigmatic and elusive. Born of a civilisation that prizes honour, speed and fearsome loyalty, their allegiance has yet remained unclear even as the galaxy is torn apart by Horus's treachery, and both sides have apparently counted them among their potential allies in the war to come.

The new vo artist

Amazing, I love Jonathan Keeble still over all the other VO artists for GW. Especially his white scars characters, but I also saw why it was a little problematic, and this artist did an incredible job

Waste of a story
Reviewed: 05-01-23
What a waste, we obviously aren’t picking up a book titled Angron, the red angel to hear about these ancillary characters and barely any insights into him. The best parts of this novel being about the Conquerer and it’s mistress proving that. This should have been titled World Eaters or something, very misleading.

As word of Horus's treachery spreads to fully half of the Legiones Astartes, Terra looks to the remaining loyalist Space Marines to defend the Imperium. One group, however, remains curiously silent in spite of apparent efforts from both sides to contact them—the storied V Legion, Jaghatai Khan's fearsome White Scars. In the ork-held territory of Chondax, a bitter war has been raging since the Triumph at Ullanor, and only now do the sons of Chogoris return their gaze to the heavens.

Ok background/story if you live scars, subpar acting
Reviewed: 01-10-23
Really appreciate getting what seems like an ethnically correct actor but unfortunately this one’s voice acting was rough. Almost unlistenable for me, again not from the accent which was great but the acting itself, felt like grandpa was reading a book to me instead of an actor.

Made me feel like Corax and his legion are not very good at their jobs, made it surprisingly disappointing. Well written though and advances…a plot I guess.

Swing and a miss

I understand what they were trying to do here but save it for short stories. These are two of the biggest characters randomly and epically meeting and one happens to be a true fan favorite. Really missed a chance to write a truly epic novel on a weird whim
