THE STORY
On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges.
These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra. As two packs of ancient, merciless predators stalk the shadows of the prison colony, both seeking a single young inmate with unnatural talents, the corridors run red, and both factions will have to fight tooth and claw to leave Zartak alive.

New Insights
Heard of the Charcharodons before, but was under the impression they skirted the line of heretics. Especially considering the brutality of Tiberos. This story shows them in a better light as skillful hunters and those loyal to the Emperor. Interesting matchup between them and the Night Lords.

Duality of Space Marines
I really loved the way the author created rich lore for the carcharadons, mostly exhibiting it through their actions and leaving enough mystery to keep it interesting. It was so cool to see the similarities between traitor and loyalist chapters. A solid start!

Great listen
compelling story about a really cool chapter of space marines. the dynamic between the quiet but brutal carcharodons against the more savage and taunting night lords made for a great contrast.

Amazing reading. Audio direction is great and does a wonderful job of conveying character and emotion.
Was a great 40k story. Wonderfully vivid descriptions and very interesting characters. Definitely one of the better Space Marine stories.

Good but had parts that how do you say needed to get to the fireworks factory. But cool to find out what happens to the night lords after their series

Made me want to paint a Cacharodons army.
Lots of fun and very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the depiction and the battles that were present in the book and can definitely recommend it for anyone curious about this mysterious chapter.

Excellent lore building for the Carcharadons
This was a well written solid story. The characters had depth and nuance. This is the second book that I have read that features the pale nomad and I was pleased to see that he remains an engaging character. This book left me wanting to know more of the lore of this chapter, which should always be a goal of a WH40K book. It should always leave you wanting to know more.
This was the first time had heard a performance by this reader and I thought he did an excellent job.

Hats off to the Space Sharks
Two of my favorite Space Marine Factions facing off! Both sides get a great deal of screen time and get fantastic showings, if you like either of them this is well worth the purchase. Shogo Miyakita does a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he narrates next!
