A Horus Heresy Novella

After the Triumph at Ullanor, Jaghatai Khan led the White Scars to Chondax and then vanished from all sight. Only after years of war against the orks does his story become known...

Listen to it because

This is the first time the White Scars have been shown in any detail in the Horus Heresy series. In this book, their trademark method of war is demonstrated to brutal effect against the unfortunate remnants of an ork empire. And a unique structure contrasts how the White Scars see themselves and how the Imperium views them.

The story

As word of Horus's treachery spreads to fully half of the Legiones Astartes, Terra looks to the remaining loyalist Space Marines to defend the Imperium. One group, however, remains curiously silent in spite of apparent efforts from both sides to contact them—the storied V Legion, Jaghatai Khan's fearsome White Scars. In the ork-held territory of Chondax, a bitter war has been raging since the Triumph at Ullanor, and only now do the sons of Chogoris return their gaze to the heavens...

Fun read, love hearing about the time on Chondax. Especially like ilia and the khans first meeting, and his final battle with the orks. All kinds of fun in this short read.

Great lore from the rank and file white scars.

Really appreciate getting what seems like an ethnically correct actor but unfortunately this one’s voice acting was rough. Almost unlistenable for me, again not from the accent which was great but the acting itself, felt like grandpa was reading a book to me instead of an actor.

Ok background/story if you live scars, subpar acting

A solid sort of behind the scenes glimpse at the White Scars pre-heresy, with two major POV characters and good pacing. While not necessary to the major narrative overall, if you want more of the legion this is a great listen. And both narrators are great and bring fresh voices that are appropriate to the characters they’re voicing.

A solid story in both content and performance

Everything about this is terrific. The characters, the storytelling, the atmosphere, the voice acting. 10/10.

Maybe the best 30k lit I’ve read

I am a fan of Johnathan Keebler’s version, but this was still a good performance. Story is still good so check it out.

Good rerelease

I love the White Scars, probably my favorite Legion/Chapter. Tied with the Grey Knights. My favorite Xenos being Orks, and this book hit everything for a HH book and a good 40k book

For the Khan!
