Story
Being a lowly “walker” in a world of vampires, werewolves, and fae once kept her safe. But Mercy’s bark–and bite–are not so harmless any more. Though Mercy can shift her shape into that of a coyote, her loyalty never wavers. So when her former boss and mentor, Zee, asks for her help, she’s there for him. A series of murders has rocked a fae reservation, and Zee needs her unique gifts, namely her coyote sense of smell, to sniff out the killer.

Riveting, but could use a trigger warning
Reviewed: 02-17-25
This book is fantastic. I love this series. I have read the books, listened to the original audio and the dramatized adaptation. The story line keeps you engaged and I find myself getting lost in Mercy verse. I will say that I wish this book would’ve come with a trigger warning. If you are a SVU victim, tread lightly. Otherwise, I enjoyed this book immensely and am looking forward to the next one.

When I'm late for a job interview and get stuck on an elevator with an annoyingly sexy, ancient-Rome-obsessed grump, the last thing I expect is for him to be the billionaire owner of the building. I also don't expect to almost kill him...accidentally, of course.

I enjoyed every moment of this book. They were both funny, unique & slightly weird in their own cute way and the chemistry was tense! I recommend giving it a try. The narration wasn’t bad. Don’t listen to the other reviews. Check for yourself. It’s worth the credit for me.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

I loved this book. It had me snorting with laughter! I loved Charlottes quirkiness and Reid’s sarcasm. Their chemistry was off the charts! I definitely recommend this book. Vi and Penelope really have a way of drawing you into a story. I finished it in 2 days and had trouble focusing on doing anything else!!! You won’t be disappointed. I also loved that this book was not centered around sex. It has just the right amount for me.

I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. This is another wonderful novel by Molly Harper. It has all of the snarky humor that I love and the storyline that I was immediately drawn into. I can’t wait to see what the next book has to bring. Molly Harper definitely has a talent for storytelling in this book was no exception.

Story
My name is Venus. I'm a 200-year old killing machine and I'm trading in my daggers and sword for a sparkly dress and an obscene swimsuit. Tiny strips of Lycra are not my typical battle wear, but when in Oklahoma... Armed with a fairly decent attitude, two debatably heterosexual insane old ladies, a woman I'd wanted to kill less than eight hours ago, and the possible love of my undead life, I'm in over my head with this. Of course I have no clue what this is going to entail, but that's never stopped me before.

A lot of sex
Reviewed: 10-18-15
I loved the story line but there was a lot more sex in it than I anticipated. For some people that's a big plus, but for me it got a little annoying after a while. The narrator was ok, but all the voices were the same. The only difference I could tell was her distinction between male and female.

The narrator was awful
Would you recommend Shadow Spell to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend reading the book, not listening
What didn’t you like about Alan Smyth’s performance?
Too many pauses. Couldn't tell one character from the other. Too much emphasis on annunciation to whereas it sounded like he was reading the book for the first time.
