Story
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.

For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Story
They say that the Thorn of Camorr can beat anyone in a fight. They say he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. They say he's part man, part myth, and mostly street-corner rumor. And they are wrong on every count. Only averagely tall, slender, and god-awful with a sword, Locke Lamora is the fabled Thorn, and the greatest weapons at his disposal are his wit and cunning. He steals from the rich - they're the only ones worth stealing from - but the poor can go steal for themselves.

SPOILER about a charachter
I fell in love with the first book, in this series. It had everything. The second book, was more of a dissapointment. Micheal J. Sullivan is a wonderful writer and person. However the two main story girls in the second book are poorly written. The first book had the princess who truly intrested me, she was a wonderful addition. then in the second book she became annoying repetative, dumb. She kept telling she was a loner and one of the boys instead of showing with story. We already as a reader knew this about her in the first book. I think maybe Sullivan was afraid we were all dumb, and decided to make it painfully clear. Though this ruined the story, all her chapthers were compleatly unintresting. In a book about the coolest duo in forever, it really was not much of them in the second book.
