Started out a bit slower than some of the author’s other books but I loved it as it went on and it got more and more interesting with each chapter! Such a great story of a remarkable woman.

Perfect Christmas story for historical fiction lovers. Great plot for the season and beyond. I liked how they integrated several characters point of views into what was going on at the same time.

Story
Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

I feel like chunks of important time were left out of the story to finish it quickly. It kept jumping forward at all the points I wanted the details of and had tons of details in less significant moments. I loved the storyline but those gaps hurt it in my opinion, which was a shame because I love this author and the storyline was awesome. I think the editor was too generous..

Best book I have “read”/ listened to this year. So real, heartbreaking, heart warming, relatable..just perfect. I love all her books but honestly didn’t know if I would get into the Vietnam war plot because I generally prefer history further back like WW2 but I am so glad I gave it a chance anyway because not only did I learn so much about an era my parents grew up in but was foreign to me but it ended up being my favorite book of the author’s. Really well done. I don’t get 5 stars out hardly ever because I save them for the very best.

But that freedom is quickly coming to an end. With Jackson getting released from prison, Amber’s time—and money—is vanishing.

I loved the whole ACOTAR series..until this book. Horrible narration, and a cringy and smutty story just didn’t do Nesta’s story justice. Overall she had a good story but the way they made it play out was almost embarrassing to listen to compared to the other books. Glad it’s over but hoping when the series continues it doesn’t end up more like this..

Story
The North Yorkshire moors are always a magical place, but they’re particularly enchanting at the holidays…especially if one gets to travel back in time to a Victorian Christmas. For Bronwyn Dale, it is the stuff of dreams. Fancy-dress balls, quirky small-town traditions, even that classic one-horse open sleigh, complete with jingle bells. There’s just the tiny problem of the Butterfly Effect. How does a time-traveler make a difference without disrupting the future forever?
