Acerca de esta escucha

Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a young adult high fantasy series by Sarah J. Maas. The saga begins when Feyre Archeron, a 19-year-old huntress, is kidnapped and brought to the faerie lands of Prythian. Her kidnapper is Tamlin, a High Fae and one of the seven High Lords of Prythian. I haven’t ever heard this particular narration before but her narration of this book almost made me stop listening. There wasn’t a clear distinction between character voices and she made Az sound like an old withered man. All the females sounded the same and some of the parts were just over exaggerated. I also tended to drown out the the narrators voice and had to rewind quite a bit because I was missing key parts of conversations in the story.

Even in the midst of all that the book was great. A lot of people couldn’t stand Rhys and Fey in this book and complained about how they were toward nesta but why should they bankroll her downward spiral? I really enjoyed Nesta’s journey to embrace herself the good, bad and ugly and embrace and work through her emotions it is no small feat and to watch her grow, break and heal was really a beautiful thing.

If you can withstand the narration the book is great

This lady sounds like she should be ready scary Childrens books. Enough said. I miss the other lady !

Narraration was bad.

This book was so worth the wait... but I could not get past the narrator, was just awful. Killed it for me. She didn’t do her research or even bother to listen to the previous books. Everything was over exaggerated and you couldn’t tell which character was speaking. I cringed listening to her that I had to just get the book and read it myself. I stayed up til 5am and finished. I laughed, I cried, I really felt every emotion... reading it on my own!!

Read the book. Skip the audible version of this one. You’ll enjoy it more, trust me.

LOVED the book, COULD NOT STAND NARRATOR!!

Uh so I am not done yet! I am about halfway through and my feelings are all over the place! I Love Love Sarah J Mass and have waited over a year and a half for this book! When it got pushed back again I was devastated, so when it finally came into my library on the 16th I was over the moon! First thing that caught my attention ( not in a good way ) was the new narrator. :( It took me about 5 chapters in to adjust, ( which was expected) but even adjusting it just isn't working.
I dont mind the voice it just does not work for this series and these characters! It immediately made Feyre seem like a whiny, not confident character.
Rhys like a big jerk (not in the... for the good of people kinda way) There was no kindness and openess to Mor or the lovable snobbery that Ameron is known for.
Its like the narrator never read the previous books in the series. I wouldn't mind listening to this narrator in a different book series but for this one it ruined it!
I also don't mind the mature themes that Sarah J Mass has been adding to her stories, except that it is not coming across right to me.
The first three books had some mature themes but they were done so elagantly and so intwined with the story line it was seemless and perfect .
In this book the scenes seem pushed, rushed and childish in a way. It definitely does not further the storyline. It kinda seems like it's just thrown in there with no true purpose.
Sarah J Mass has always done these mature scenes in such a way that it elevates the story, but in this one it actually knocks it down a bit.
Like I said I am halfway through and it has frustrated me so much that I had to do a review.
The story really is working its way through pretty well and the concept is in true ACOTAR fashion but it just has a disconnect to it. (Super Sad)
Now with all that being said I am still and will always be a Sarah J Mass fan! She made me fall back in love with this genre. She has a way of taking this genre and making it sophisticated!
UPDATE:
The story really picks up and takes you through all the emotions! A great story! Even with the narration and a few oddly placed mature scenes thrown in there ... It is an awesome story! Well worth the credit and wait !

STILL A FAN OF SARAH J MASS !

Great book but the character voices were too similar to each other and didnt quite fit the characters.

good read

I fell in love with Acotar immediately, like most and though Nesta was a rough character from the beginning, I ultimately found her more relatable and her story arc more realistic. Now of course we don’t read Fantasy stories because they’re realistic but we do like to imagine ourselves as a character in any story, that’s what makes a great story, our ability to connect. For me I could connect with Nesta’s ups and downs, her very non-linear progress. I hope we see more of her story in the future, but overall I look forward to the rest of the IC’s personal growth.

My favorite ACO-book

The books are written so well. Love this series and the author. However audiobook narration of this one leaves a lot to be desired. Ikeda original narrator of the prior books is fabulous and easily creates separations in tone and modulation for each character. This narrator has no idea how to do that....disappointing.

Bring back J.Ikeda Narrator!!

This was the best book in the series. Like Sarah J Maas was warming up through the others before this one. The audio performance was fantastic! Stina Neilson outdid herself with her performance.

Best book in the series

I’ve loved every book in this series, this one is a bit spicier🌶️ than the rest.

Such a great series

I really love this series and loved experiencing more of the lives of the sisters and other characters. Although I think I’m doing so some of the magic was taken away from the power couple that I’d grown to love the most. I felt like I wanted more of Rhysand and Feyre or at least more of a stronger role from Feyre. I thought their story was built up so much and then when it got put on the back burner lost its character. Other than that, as always I loved the way it was written and the plot for nesta and cassian.

The goods… and some mehs
