About this listen

Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Omg I was punch both Morgan and Rhysand

I really and enjoying what I have read so far but rhysand Mor and Feyra are insufferable. Rhysand and feyra are controlling and act as if they are nesta parents and not has always rubbed me the wrong way but she is just so mean to nesta just like Rhysand the only characters who I liked constantly were Nesta Cassian Azriel and Amren

Fantastic perspective on mental/ emotional health

One of the best books I've ever read. The main character's struggle with mental health is so important for everyone to understand.

Give it a chance

I read so many bad reviews that I almost didn’t give this one a chance. Although this one is by far the spiciest book of the series, it is my favorite! Yes, the narrator is different and gets a wee bit dramatic and breathy…. But the writing is amazing. I adore the story of Nesta and her journey. Give this one a chance :)

Serenity by Jan

I am so glad I read this book before listening to it. The narrator is to breathy. She sounds like the woman who plays Jan from The Office. I can’t get past it. I just picture her in her little audio booth with her serenity candles lit using this overly breezy tone.

The story is good, I loved getting Nesta’s point of view. The ending felt rushed. We spent so much time on the details smut, which I am totally ok with, but really rushed through the adventurous ending. It was like watching a split screen and not knowing where to focus. However, the book was a good and I will read and listen to it many times.

Maas does a great job of describing the effects of trauma. She nails all the emotions and shines a much needed light on mental health.

Nesta!!!

Another great addition to the series!! With that being said, I did not enjoy the voice acting for this one bit. It was really overdone and made me genuinely cringe at times.

Fantastic Ending to the Story

The story was a fun ride with steamy erotic moments mixed with all the feels that makes this ending worthy of the story that started it all.

You guys are harsh..updated

Out of all of this series I think the narrator of this story is better than Cobb, whom I thought was laughable during the sex scenes. I don’t think the narration is bad at all. I agree the story line of Nesta being a prisoner is stretching things but I haven’t finished the book. I do think the whole series is a bit much on the poor me aspect but not enough to not want to hear the rest. Keep going Sarah Maas and leave poor Stina Nielsen alone.

Update: having now finished and re listening to this novel. I actually went back and re-listened to the whole series. I will agree this novel was an excuse for sex scenes which, I don’t mind. I like the story in that it fully develops an interesting character and would welcome more independent character novels for our other favorites. I would like to see them tie into a point because honestly there wasn’t a lot going on besides Nesta’s emergence from her funk. I didn’t mind the narration but I do agree the voices are too similar for all the characters and I miss Moore’s peppy voice.
