Sometimes the worst wounds can’t be seen. Lucas Everett knows that firsthand. It's why he and his former Navy SEAL brothers created the Resting Warrior Ranch. Usually, soldiers show up at their door. But this time, it's Evelyn Taylor—a soldier in a very different kind of war.

OK... so the concept would have been great. There wasn't enough action or encounters for being dropped in Alaska. The author overused the word, "A.mazing". The character, Flip, always uses her full first and last name all through the book and it is beyond annoying. The narrator sounded the same for all the other characters and the inflection she uses makes them sound more like used car salesmen.

Story
Reverend Augustus Shackleford's mission in life (aside from ensuring the collection box was suitably full every Sunday) was to secure advantageous marriages for each of his eight daughters. A tall order, given the fact that in the Reverend's opinion they didn't possess a single ladylike bone in the eight bodies they had between them. Quite where he would find a wealthy titled gentleman bottle headed enough to take any of them on remained a mystery and indeed was likely to test even his legendary resourcefulness.

Mark Alstob has to be the worst narrator ever. Please stop using him. His voice makes me cringe. I couldn't finish the series because of him.

This epic of the booming 20's captures the relentless culture of American business. A classic novel about conformity in small town America - celebrated for its comic tone, statire, and vivid dialogue. L.A. Theatre Works, then a fledgling radio theatre company, completed Babbitt in 1989. This production was so well received that L.A. Theatre Works has since become the world's premiere radio theatre company.

Aggravating Narration

The only thing I disliked were the constant switching of narrators. This will make all listeners have ADD by the end. It was worse than sitting in a full salon with all the different voices competing against eachother.

For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night. Mercy McAlpine, the manager of the Lodge, is dead. With a vicious storm raging and the one access road to the property washed out, the murderer must be someone on the mountain. But as Will and Sara investigate the McAlpine family and the other guests, they realize that everyone here is lying.

I love Will Trent!
Reviewed: 10-09-24
OK, so I absolutely love Will Trent! BUT... come on... not all Christians are crazy, abusive pedophiles. I just finished the last book of this series on audible (12 books) and joked that there is always some white, christian, abusive, rapist, pedophile that is the evil villian in the end. We might need to change things up a little in the future. Maybe write on the Muslim pedophiles who marry 9 yr olds, or the Chinese who force their women to abort female babies, or maybe write about the P.Diddy saga. Geez, give the white christians a break.

It seems like the author pulled up the top 5000 sayings/expressions/southernisms from the xyz Era, and checked off every single one of them. It was 33 chapters and could have been completed in 19. They kept repeating the whole list of all they went through way too many times. There are no calico colored horses. It could have been a cuter story.

Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.
