Story
This is the story of two girls, one is a princess and the other is a daughter of a shepherd; both are spoiled and self-serving. Their lives are changed forever when they encounter the Wise Woman, who undertakes to teach them virtue with an astounding balance of grace and truth. Firm and loving, the Wise Woman is everything a good parent could hope to be, and a refreshing portrayal of the Heavenly Parent in us all.

Am old story full of intrigue and meaning
Reviewed: 03-29-25
I found out about this book when looking into C S Lewis. I can see why the author is a favorite of his. The story reads like an old fairy tale, but is so full of life's truths I enjoyed the lessons I learned from it, especially as a mother. I will definitely read this to my children again and again.

Thomas Sowell at his best. He brings factual order and reason from history back to our present day. Clears up the propaganda polluting our news, entertainment and education system. I will definitely be teaching my children these lessons and more as I read my way through his books.

In Eat and Run, Scott Jurek opens up about his life and career - as an elite athlete and a vegan - and inspires runners at every level. From his Midwestern childhood hunting, fishing, and cooking for his meat-and-potatoes family, to his early beginnings in running (he hated it), to his slow transition to ultrarunning and veganism, to his world-spanning, record-breaking races, Scott's story shows the power of an iron will and blows apart all the stereotypes of what athletes should eat to fuel optimal performance.

As someone who has become just as reliant on food to heal and sustain while pushing physical limits, this was a wonderfully informative yet inspirational book to listen to. Lots of simple, yet detailed enough information on what role food has played in his life. Lots of insightful, meaningful detail on role running has been in his life.
Definitely recommend to both the newby & seasoned runner. For both health & Personal fulfillment.

Story
It's no wonder that introversion is making headlines - half of all Americans are introverts. But if that describes you, are you making the most of your inner strength? In this book, psychologist and introvert Laurie Helgoe, PhD, unveils the genius of introversion. Introverts gain energy and power through reflection and solitude. Our culture, however, is geared toward the extrovert. The pressure to get out there and get happier can lead people to think that an inward orientation is a problem instead of an opportunity.

My husband says the narrator sounds like a robot, but I heard it as an instruction book. She has some fascinating studies, & even good strategies. Unfortunately I got distracted by her over-detailed play by plays. A good book to listen to when you have other stuff to work on too.

Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.
