Gritty Urban Fantasy

I really enjoyed this book, including the narrator who brought the post-apocalyptic vernacular to life. The book is gritty with complex characters, it's sexy, and there are some freaky ghosts and witchcraft.

Christophe Galfard's mission in life is to spread modern scientific ideas to the general public in entertaining ways. Using his considerable skills as a brilliant theoretical physicist and successful young-adult author, The Universe in Your Hand employs the immediacy of simple, direct language to show us, not explain to us, the theories that underpin everything we know about our universe.

Really fascinating history that was at times inspirational, at times bizarre. An eye-opening glimpse into the women's movement of the early 20th century and a very personal story too.

I didn't want it to end. An original plot that blends horror (RESIDENT EVIL comes to mind) with fantasy and a touch of HUNGER GAMES. Great characters and authentic emotion. And an MC I've never seen on the page before this. I REALLY hope there's a sequel.

STOP. You should not have touched this flyer with your bare hands. NO, don't put it down. It's too late. They're watching you. My name is David Wong. My best friend is John. Those names are fake. You might want to change yours. You may not want to know about the things you'll read on these pages, about the sauce, about Korrok, about the invasion, and the future. But it's too late. You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

Would you consider the audio edition of Bite Me to be better than the print version?
I am a huge fan of Christopher Moore, but "You Suck," and "Bite Me" have to be my favorites. A major reason for that is the hilarious narration of the character Abby Normal by Susan Bennett. I have listened to many, many audio books, and these are on the top of my list. And of course, being Moore novels, the stories are highly entertaining. I have told my husband that he MUST read this series, BUT when he gets to the 2nd and 3rd books, I am insisting that he listens to them - the narration is that good.
What other book might you compare Bite Me to and why?
"You Suck," - same author and narrator
Which character – as performed by Susan Bennett – was your favorite?
Abby Normal
Who was the most memorable character of Bite Me and why?
Abby Normal and the Emperor. And Chet the huge, shaved cat.
