Story
Extreme sub-zero temperatures suffocate the surface. Frozen structures of bygone eras span across massive ice-wastes. And the survivors closely guard any technology rediscovered within them. The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface, but that doesn't mean it's safe... Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. Unhinged demigods war against them, dying over and over, treating it all like a game. The depths themselves shift over time, more contraption than rock.

Love It, Great Progression Fantasy Series
Reviewed: 10-18-24
I have actually read books 1-3, this is an excellent post apocalypse progression fantasy series. Story, characters, and world are interesting and each book adds / builds greater depth. The MC is difference, not perfect, and not OP. The story is matched by a great performance by narrator, 5 stars! Cannot wait to listen to the next one.

Story
In the year 2107, the world has both made astounding leaps forward and reduced humanity to its most basic existence. While the megacorps and those who rule them enjoy lives of extraordinary comfort and ease, most people barely scrape by, doing whatever they can to keep going. Juliet Bianchi is one of the latter. She works cutting metal in a scrapyard and doesn't have much to show for it except for a small group of equally bereft, fiercely loyal friends. Still, she maintains a bright disposition, possessing more hope and optimism than anyone would expect her to—and she's going to need it.

Great story looses immersion due to Mary Sue MC
Reviewed: 09-21-24
Really enjoyed this well written story, i liked the premise, academy setting, and in danger world. However, immersion is ruined on occasion by a mister irresistible, perfect and OP main character who is scared of violence. Also, not every female character has to be a desperate sex driven women wanting to get into his pants. Be warned that the total duration of book is 1 month so this may take a while. Everything else is great.

Zane was driving home from work when the world changed. Thousands of dungeons spawned at once, taking up every inch of Earth—including the road he’s driving on. He wakes up to a totaled car and a broken leg, facing down a goblin trying to spear him through the guts. And that's just the start of it. But to Zane’s surprise, he finds himself enjoying this brutal new world. While others cower and hide, he goes on the hunt. He unlocks a unique Berserker skill—the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets.

No! MC win tactic is die from hitting my hard head
Reviewed: 09-14-24
Nope, took a risk because of high reviews, as I typically avoid berserker characters. Halfway through book MC's solution seems to be again I’m losing so I get mad and stronger and that solves everything. MC is already OP.
Performance is good, story is not worth it. Got it on sale, paid too much.

Could not finish, no likable characters or MC
Reviewed: 09-14-24
I tried, but could not like any of the characters. MC is an entitled idiot and gets everything handed to him on a plate. Maybe it gets better, but quit after halfway through first book
All the character voices especially the females sounded like stuck up, snooty princesses.
Really disappointed as had higher hopes.

Story
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

I was wrong, Card LitRPG better than expected
Reviewed: 09-08-24
I made some assumptions regarding this book that were wrong and ignored the strong ratings, I was put off initially by the summary premise of a card LitRPG. This book was much, much better than I expected.
In the end I was really surprised to enjoy the magic/ progression system and performance. If you are having doubts, for what it's worth, I highly recommend getting this book(s).

Entire book seemed like a filler and prep for next book. Which looks very interesting BTW. I hope this does not drag out and continue, too many series are milked instead of progressing and concluding story arc (Looking at you HWFWM).

Strong Start. Great Progression & Performance
Reviewed: 07-31-24
Highly highly recommend this one. I'm three books into this series, and it only gets better and better. Only small fault, I dropped 1 star on story for first book as MC annoyingly repeated same bullheaded errors. This is corrected in Book 2 onwards and could be argued this is all part of his character progression.
Long book, great story & value, progression system, superb performance, loved It!
