Is this what we do with the truth?

Our truth is hidden, twisted, rewritten, and disguised, and it's silly, and abused, and so, so ridiculous. At times laugh out loud funny, and others cringingly wrong and embarrassing.

Beautifully written, horrific and embarrassing truth. Evil looms large in the reality of what has been done in the name of might as right. Inspite of, or maybe because of, the abuse, I was pulled through the book, compelled forward as I have been by Whitehead's 'The Underground Railroad'.

Just never quite grabbed me. Intriguing quick left and right turns in the 3rd quarter of the book, which piqued my interest, but then went off the rails to the end. Meh, overall.

I really wanted to love this book, but I just could not finish. A compelling subject, but the author's voice got in the way.

I've always liked Dan Rather, even during his fall from grace while at 60 minutes. Thank you, Dan, for the words about our present leadership.

This was a waste of my time. No value, no interest. Low grade humor. Don't.

I only got through half of the 2nd chapter.
The style of the book is farsical. The acting from a genre over top of the Jackie Gleason show, which I love, but not so much, here. The story is mildly funny throughout, just not my style.

This short story is too short. I wanted more of the story of these 2 women.

I'm a big fan of the 'Vikings' series. I particularly enjoyed the ironies and similarities if the series characters who share the names of some of the Norse gods.

I loved this audible book.
Dommeck is a wonderful storyteller. His story is frightening, grizzly, and mesmerizing. If you are interested in cultural Alaska, native beliefs, why did he..., this book is for you. I listened to Midnight Son while hiking a coastal Oregon moss covered, pine needle laden off trail area. As I thrashed through the low hanging tree branches I felt I was with the brothers as the fled their terror. That hike will, for me, forever be the Inyucun trail.
