Overall, I enjoyed the book. I would consider it a funny thriller. The main character’s personal outlook is the one thing that bugged me about the story. The self esteem was not there at all. Enjoyed the narration. Would recommend.

Reviewed: 12-12-24
I’m not sure how I felt after listening to this book. I love a good psychological thriller but there weren’t a ton of thrills in this book. More “WTH” moments and not in a good way. I did not care for then ending of this story at all. The narrators were just ok.

Story
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

Although short, the story was so entertaining. I enjoyed each of the characters and would love a full length novel. Will Janelle and Andre get married? Is the new puppy a sign for future human kids? I need answers!!!

It's no secret that we're pushed to the limit. Today's professionals feel rushed, overwhelmed, and perennially behind. How can we break out of the cycle and create the kind of interesting, meaningful lives that we all seek? Just as CEOs who optimize for quarterly profits often fail to make the strategic investments necessary for long-term growth, the same is true in our own personal and professional lives.

Story
Liz Rocher is coming home . . . reluctantly. As a Black woman, Liz doesn’t exactly have fond memories of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a predominantly white town. But her best friend is getting married, so she braces herself for a weekend of awkward, passive-aggressive reunions. Liz has grown, though; she can handle whatever awaits her. But on the night of the wedding, somewhere between dancing and dessert, the newlyweds’ daughter, Caroline, disappears—and the only thing left behind is a piece of white fabric covered in blood.

I enjoyed listening to this book up until about the last hour or so. the additions of folklore with the stars and the rhymes seemed new and fresh. Something I hadn’t read before. However, There were somethings that just felt like they were being strung together without any real substance.
