Scriptural Review of THE WAY
Reviewed: 12-22-23
Reconfirmed this life is a battle ground.
Descriptively discussed the crazy offensive injurious schemes of evil expressed thru people in various presentations. Information is validating and edifying.
Most importantly, revives the Believer’s focus on Jesus’s pragmatism in combating evil.

Empowering Awareness that resolves frustration
Reviewed: 11-10-21
I’m out of a 2.5 years dating relationship with someone that previously I’ve known as a friend for almost 20 years.
Their betrayals included financial, sexual, intimacy, gaslighting, and violent arguments. Each time I forgave and stayed “out of love.” Each time eroded my self efficacy.
There was a final blow that affected me physically and emotionally and he betrayed me again through abandonment.
I was lost, confused, grieving, and stuck in the aftermath. I could not figure out what I did wrong too along the way to end up on an outcome I neither intended nor did anything remarkable to justify.
This book provided clarity and I can now see where erred in how I responded to both his red flags and observable harm.
For the 1st time since the chaos started, I am relieved that I can empower myself to do better.

Necessary Reading for Everyone

These are solid principles. Whether you believe in God or not, these principles (God’s) principle’s, universal law/rules, etc. govern the outcome of all life, especially our blindspots. Understanding how to implement effective restraint on one’s self is liberating and benefits everyone.
This is a nice update to the earlier iteration of this book. Practiced 6 years ago and now in 2020, these biblically based principles are immediately effective and consistent, the latter being the ultimate measure.
Do yourself a favor and read this. Suspend any doubt and give yourself a break to take in this transforming information.

Thoughtful, Cheering and very Helpful

Was going through very difficult and hurtful relationship that did not improve despite the genuine love I poured into it and was reciprocating as far as I understood.
The message from this book validated that it really was external negativity that preyed on me emotionally and mentally. This validation felt good.
Finally, it helped both intellectualize and encourage me to help myself which was the only thing I could do and I eventually found strength to help myself happily.
Hoping this book also leads you to your own peace.

empathy, clarity and instruction to help move on

Dr Laura covers so much ground. Her examples of intimate betrayal are particularly helpful to me and the reason I purchased this book. There's no quick fix to a broken heart... there's just the Grace of distance, time and new opportunity that if you allow yourself to heal fully will be, feel and taste even more blessed once achieved. Revenge isn't made taboo and I loved this! it's a discussion of how different motives and means of revenge will likely result and an exploration of alternative paths which aren't necessarily the high road but can elevate you from the depths of rage, bitterness, scorn and depression betrayal sunk me into. I can start to faithfully take responsibility for my own healing without being glued to the idea that there's nothing good to come from getting the crap end of the stick. thank you for this writing!

Also for the abusive parent to help understanding the impact of their actions on their child and maybe even reconciling pains..

Good Read.
Reviewed: 02-25-13
If you could sum up Cracking the Corporate Code in three words, what would they be?
Insightful, Entertaining and Motivating.
What did you like best about this story?
It showed me that my experiences are neither new nor uncommon... that there is a way to overcome common challenges many people of African descent experience in a Caucasian work place and culture.
The narrative brought the insights to life, and made them meaningful.
Have you listened to any of Jane Ellen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
None before. I would like to hear more of her performances.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
None in particular... the book is inspiring on a whole.
Any additional comments?
It would have been nice to hear success stories from more contemporary black businessmen and women. The people covered often said that a big part of there success was not having too much competition against other black people in their field so it's easier for them to have developed their respective niches.
As someone in their mid 20's in 2013, I'd like to hear to climb of those closer to my age... what their backgrounds are and how they came to know their success in this day and age.
