Story
After facing war, death, unruly gods, and unmitigated evil, Minalan the Spellmonger is forced to return to Farise, the site of his earliest battles, with the simple assignment to conquer the subtropical city-state and expel the pirates that plague the kingdom’s shipping. Tired of warfare, Minalan embarks on a clandestine campaign to do so, assuming an alias and setting up shop in Farise as a mere Practical Adept as cover for his operation. Recruiting a cadre of talented agents to assist, he reluctantly begins the task of infiltrating and observing Farisian society.

This entire series is phenomenal. This book was a bit of a departure from prior works in many ways, but truly a fun and engrossing listen.

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Phenomenal

It’s just such a well told story that you really can’t help becoming invested in it. There’s such a humanistic factor to the idea of loss in life and how it molds and shapes our lives and worldview. The protagonist in this story is so well developed and so relatable in terms of handling loss and having flaws while dealing with guilt from his past and still striving to be better. The story is great, the performance utterly wonderful, just get it and listen, you’ll enjoy it.

Story
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

This book and this entire series is phenomenal. The characters are so flawed and so real in so many ways. The world building is truly enthralling and I would recommend this entire series to anyone wanting an extended listen. There are nine books in total, each of them is incredible. Enjoy.

Its Just a Great Story

Society of The Sword is a great listen. Its one of the only books that I have actively gone back and listened to and is still great every single time I listen to it. The character arcs and overall development of said characters is wonderful and you truly end up caring for these people within the story. The plot is well developed and unlike some stories it doesn't come across as juvenile or "teeny/tweeny", thank god. Give it a listen, you won't regret it.

I don’t leave a ton of reviews, but I really enjoyed this story. I thought the concept of twin born was something original and added something cool to the genre. I think overall I could’ve done without some of the extraneous characters who are introduced and then really don’t serve much purpose as it does become sort of cumbersome with so many names being thrown at you within two different, separate, but very connected worlds. Outside of that it was awesome and I really enjoyed this story. If you love fantasy, magic, and even some political machinations thrown in you’ll def enjoy it also, so give it a try.

The cycle of Arawn was amazing. This picks up where that trilogy leaves off. The writing is epic. The performance is epic. Tim Reynolds voice fits perfectly and his inflection is perfect at all times. The cycle of arawn was amazing in every way and the first book of the galand is somehow better. It’s just the best honestly. If you love the fantasy genre and you haven’t listened to these books you’re missing out entirely. Thank you so much Edward W. Robertson for writing this and Tim Gerald Reynolds for reading this amazing story. You’ve given me countless hours of enjoyment in what is a horrific commute for me. I actually look forward to my drive now and have to stop myself from listening in my house so I don’t finish the series before the end of this school year and the end of my four hour daily commute. Thank you so much.
