This book got me through the 3rd 4th and 5 th days of a miserable case of Covid; Thank You Leann!!!
It was so engaging and well written that it really had me in its grip until the last pages…:). Great characters, well developed, very credible plot, and excellent food for thought (when not too fevered…🙄.
Definitely will recommend.

The Essence of Self-Realization, nearly 300 sayings rich with spiritual wisdom, is the fruit of that labor of love. The scope of this book is vast - it offers as complete an explanation of life's true purpose, and the way to achieve that purpose, as may be found anywhere. Filled with lessons and stories that Yogananda shared only with his closest disciples, this volume offers one of the most insightful and engaging glimpses into the life and lessons of a great sage.

Again and again he nudges the listener back to the essential: Zen – awareness, being here and now. While responding to the concerns of the questioners, Osho also illustrates how nonessential their preoccupations are.

Story
"The World Is on Fire" is the title of the first chapter in this new fifth volume of The Dhammapada, Osho’s contemporary presentation of the sayings of Buddha. What does Buddha mean by fire? He means anguish, anxiety, despair, misery; that's what Buddha means by fire. It is a symbol. Everybody is on fire because everybody is divided, split, schizophrenic. Everybody is on fire because there is great anxiety in the world, the anxiety of: “Am I going to make it this time or not?” Does this sound familiar to you?

Here, Osho introduces listeners to this extraordinary mystic and his songs, bringing both to light in such a way as to show how they are both timeless and utterly relevant to our time. The path of love, as described by Osho and though the songs of Kabir, is a journey that seeks out and celebrates the divine that is hidden in the ordinary, the love that becomes not just a feeling one has but ultimately a state of being that one is.

I think this is the first review I have written, but I just finished it , and am feeling filled with equanimity and generosity, so here goes...
I lived this book! I have practiced Buddhist meditation for years, so am predisposed to enjoying connected writings, but have never read any fiction about anything Buddhist! So it was a total treat to come across this intelligent, well written story that included humor, action and very relatable characters! The topic of Medical Buddha was perfect for me right now as well; I am currently experiencing a very challenging time both physically and emotionally, and loved that this book directly dealt with a Buddhist way of healing such conditions...:)
I highly recommend this book for anyone who is like minded , as well as anyone who is spiritually minded and just wants a fun read!

So we’ll written, it is perfectly paced, so readable...I identified constantly with the heroine, not because I have dark skin or was born in Africa, but because we share being human...
