  • 20: The Future of Growing Your Membership (What’s Changing)
    Jun 9 2025

Think the only way to grow your membership is to plan a big, high-pressure launch every few months… only to burn out and start all over again multiple times a year? Think again.

In this episode of Membership-Driven Business, we’re talking about what’s changing in the world of memberships, and why hanging all of your hopes on your next big launch might not be your best bet.

If you’ve been relying on a handful of big launches each year to grow your recurring revenue, this conversation will show you why that approach is becoming harder to sustain (and what to experiment with instead).

    We’re talking about:

    • Why the old model of relying on one or two big launches a year is not the way forward for almost all the membership owners I work with.
    • What’s driving this shift and what it means for you as a membership owner.
    • A different approach for you to think about: one that gives you more chances to win and grow your membership, instead of putting all of your eggs in one basket.
    • Real-world examples of how this approach works in practice.
    • The mindset shifts and specific skills you’ll need to pull this off.

This episode will help you think ahead, stay nimble, and make a plan for growing your membership you can actually follow.

  • 19: Do You Only Sell Your Membership When You Feel Like It?
    May 29 2025

Relying on motivation & willpower to grow your membership is a risky strategy, but it’s so common among the business owners I work with (even the very successful ones).

In this episode of The Membership-Driven Business Podcast, we’re talking about why your membership growth feels shaky, especially if you’ve been letting your energy or motivation levels dictate how (and how often) you promote it.

I’ll walk you through the three strategies I use with my clients to help them grow their memberships more consistently, without a BIG exhausting launch.

Also, this approach is way more fun — which means you’ll be more motivated to show up and grow this thing!

No matter how you sell your membership, this episode will help you define what’s been getting in the way of your growth, and how to start putting together a system that moves with you during the year.

    May 14 2025

In this episode of Membership-Driven Business, we’re talking about why having just a launch plan isn’t enough to grow your membership sustainably (or keep your sanity intact).

I’ll walk you through the three core pieces of a real growth plan—so you can stop guessing your way through every launch and start selling your membership with more clarity, ease, and confidence.

    Here’s what we’ll cover:

    • 26:14 - The key assets to focus on, so you’re not reinventing the wheel every time you sell your membership

  • 16: The Truth About Membership Retention (& Why Nothing You've Tried is Working)
    Feb 13 2025

Running your membership like a course creator is bad for business.

Unfortunately... it's also the default. If you plan your membership content by asking questions like:

❓ What topic should we cover this month?

❓ What's been on my mind lately?

❓ What would members find interesting?

❓ What ideas do I want to share?

Then you're defaulting to something I call "Idea Thinking".

This is one of the most powerful things you can do in your business — but it's terrible strategy if you want to improve your retention and recurring revenue.

    The antidote?

    💫 Action Thinking. 💫

Actions First, Ideas Second is one of the three essential Membership Design Principles I'm laying out in this episode.

    If you ever:

➡️ Feel resentful of how much you're doing in your membership

➡️ Don't know why members aren't taking action on your brilliant ideas & resources

➡️ Have tried a few things to improve your member retention, but you're still not happy with your recurring revenue

➡️ Worry that you're cluttering your membership with too much stuff — yet you're afraid to do less, in case that undercuts the value of your offer

This episode will shift the way you think about your membership.

    Jan 9 2025

I don’t know about you, but the idea of intensively planning my year or doing a big review feels completely unappealing to me at the moment.

I say this as a person who LOVES to dream big and envision what’s possible — thinking about the future comes really naturally to me — but I also know that not every year is going to be my Best Year Ever, and I’m OK with that.

    ... You too?

If you want intentional about your year ahead, but you know the answers aren’t waiting for you in a workbook with 106 questions and 26 sections and… you just want to get to work without overplanning or overthinking...

    Then I think you’ll like today’s episode.

It’s a little more personal than I normally do!

I'll take you behind the scenes of what happened for me in 2024 (in my business and in my life), what my takeaways were, and 5 specific questions you can ask yourself to reflect on your membership in the year ahead.

  • 13: Why "Going Evergreen" Won't Solve Your Membership Sales Problem
    Nov 28 2024

Many membership owners dream of setting up an evergreen funnel to solve their sales challenges, but the reality is more nuanced.

In this episode of The Membership-Driven Business Podcast, we're exploring why having a robust, multi-faceted sales system is crucial — and why evergreen alone won't save you.

    We're talking about:

🔹 The three essential pillars of a sustainable membership sales system and why skipping straight to evergreen could be setting you up for frustration

🔹 How to approach live launching in a way that energizes (rather than exhausts) you and aligns with your natural strengths

🔹 Why creating alignment between your promotional style and membership experience is crucial for long-term success

🔹 How to design promotional strategies that match your current resources and capacity (without burning yourself out)

    Episode highlights:

🔸Why building “live launch” skills first creates a stronger foundation for any sales system in your business — evergreen or otherwise

🔸 How personality tools like Fascination Advantage and StrengthsFinder can help you design launches that feel natural

🔸 Why being yourself during promotions isn't just more enjoyable — it's actually better for business

🔸 The "reverse bait-and-switch" trap: how under-promoting and over-delivering hurts both you and your members

🔸 Real examples of how different personality types can approach launching effectively

🔸 The “campfire story” of how one client elevated her launches by aligning them with her natural teaching style

⚠️ HEADS UP: If you want support with creating a sales system that feels authentic and sustainable, my Mini-VIP Day, Irresistible Offer, is for you. The price is increasing by $900 at the end of 2024. Book before then to lock in the current rate, even if you plan to do your VIP day in early 2025.
