  • Track that shit | why ignoring the data is leaving money on the table
    Jun 12 2025

Too many business owners are throwing offers into the void and hoping for the best. No tracking. No metrics. Just vibes.

In this episode, I talk about why that approach is... unwise (to put it mildly), and break down exactly what you should be tracking, from website traffic to bounce rates to what your email subscribers are actually doing (or not doing).

You don’t need a degree in data science. But if you want to stop pissing in the wind, you do need to start paying attention. I give you the simple metrics to track, how to use them, and how this kind of insight gives you the power to tweak and grow instead of flapping.

Track that shit. Then test, tweak, and actually build something that works.

  • Get it done | Why an MVP Gets You Closer to Making Cash
    Jun 5 2025

This week, I’m talking about something that stalls more businesses than a dodgy Wi-Fi connection: the obsession with perfection. Tweaking, planning, polishing...and never actually launching.

In this episode, I talk about why getting your idea out there fast (even if it’s a bit scrappy) will serve you far better than sitting on it until it’s “just right”. I introduce the concept of the MVP, that’s Minimal Viable Product, and explain why it’s the most powerful tool in your early-stage business arsenal.

You’ll hear a bloody great story about the guy who built a billion-dollar shoe company without actually owning any shoes (at first). If you're stuck in the thinking phase, this is your nudge to move. Create. Share. Tweak. Repeat. Perfection can wait.

  • How not to suck at Linkedin (for service providers)
    May 29 2025

Why the hell are so many people on LinkedIn not telling us what they actually do for a living?!

In this episode, I climb back on my soapbox to call out:

    💀 Storytelling with no point
💀 Oversharing in the name of “authenticity”
    💀 Sad-fishing and rage-baiting
💀 And the batshit concept that maybe, just maybe, you should make it easy for people to understand what you actually do.

Here's a guide for how not to suck at LinkedIn, especially if you’re trying to land clients and not just attention.

If you’ve ever read a post and thought “what the fuck did I just read?”, this one’s for you. If you’ve ever worried about showing up online without trauma-dumping your life story, this one’s especially for you.

  • Hold their hands | Why you can’t assume your customers know what to do
    May 22 2025

Let’s talk user experience. Or in plain English: why your audience is ghosting you before they ever hit 'buy now'.

I tell some supermarket war stories in this week’s episode, and yes—nearly losing an eye to a packet of reduced scotch eggs is relevant. Because what I’ve learned over years of working with founders is this: if people can’t figure out your website, they’re not going to stick around. Not because they’re daft. But because they’re busy, tired, and bombarded with options. This week I cover:

🖤 What self-checkouts and salmon selections taught me about online sales🖤 Why you need to make it stupidly easy to buy from you🖤 Five common UX mistakes that are quietly killing your conversions🖤 How to design your brand like your audience is half-asleep and holding a scotch egg

If your people are getting to your site and leaving without buying, you’re probably making them work too hard. Let’s fix it.

  • Sell less stuff | Why reducing your offering can boost your sales
    Apr 11 2024

So many business owners, myself included, fall into the trap of thinking that more offerings equal more cash in the bank. But the reality is that overwhelming your potential customers can do more harm than good. In the noisy online business landscape, simplicity can be your greatest ally.

On this week’s episode, I encourage you to laser focus on a core set of products so you can get crystal clear feedback, raise funds, and easily market the shit out of it all.

  • Honesty over bravado | The perks of sharing the shit stuff
    Apr 4 2024

Welcome back pals, this week I talk about importance of sharing the not-so-glamorous side of entrepreneurship. Social media is always painting a picture of flawless victory, but that's far from reality. By being transparent about the difficulties we face, we can reframe failure as a stepping stone to success.

When we open up about our setbacks, we create a little haven of support through the turbulent times. It's about showing that it's okay to stumble, to fall, and to rise again. This vulnerability is what inspires resilience in ourselves and in others.

  • You're not that brand | Why imitating your favourite businesses is a bad move
    Mar 29 2024

Building a brand is much more than a logo or a catchy tagline; it's about crafting a story and an experience that's uniquely yours. It’s something I will scream from the rooftops until the message sinks in; authenticity is the cornerstone of a brand that not only stands out, but also stands for something.

In my line of work, I've encountered a hell of a lot of clients who are enamored with the branding of industry giants like Patagonia and Innocent. They come to me with visions of replicating that success by mirroring those brands. While it's natural to admire and draw inspiration from successful companies, the key takeaway is that imitation is not the path to authenticity.

These companies have carved out their own niches by being true to their values and mission. Patagonia's commitment to environmental activism and Innocent's playful and wholesome image are not just marketing strategies; they're the core of their identities.

The week, I explain why authenticity is your most powerful branding tool. It's about aligning your brand with your genuine self, values, and vision. Authenticity resonates with customers; it builds trust and loyalty. It's not just about being different; it's about being real.
