One of the many important points that Dr. Hawkins stresses in this lecture is that in order to follow his Pathway of Devotional Non-Duality, your devotion to Truth has to be greater than the devotion to the payoff of being right. When this prevails, one is well on the way to Enlightenment. What keeps the ego in place? It is the pleasure it gets from its positionalities. The willingness to surrender the gratification and pleasure of the payoff of the ego's positions is the sacrifice.

Dr. Hawkins also informs us that spiritual work is a lot easier that we think! He unpacks for us a 4 step process for transcending the ego that is not a doingness but more of a seeing of certain essential truths, and also confirms that there is really only one choice we will ever have to make.

In addition, there is a beautiful analogy that he shares which will heighten your desire for God and to follow this path: Love, joy, ecstasy and bliss are like the brilliance of the sun shining through the radiance of one's inner existence and life becomes the unfolding of one continuous miracle after another. In closing, Dr. Hawkins ends this lecture with these tender words from the heart: "I love you all with a great intensity."
