A four-hour workshop presented at the First International Conference on Consciousness and Addiction with Dr. Willis Harman (President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences).“Where the world goes wrong in attempting to help addicts is by offering a 200-level solution for a 600-level experience. A 600-level energy problem requires a 600-level energy answer.”With chalk in hand, a young Dr. Hawkins explains that a person is addicted to the re-experiencing of a certain high-energy field. He walks us through the steps of AA and his own personal experience with alcohol. He shows that drugs do create the “high” but only have the power to remove the blocks to this higher energy field that is always present within us.Using the now familiar Map of Consciousness, he takes us through the various energy levels from death to bliss. He states that, “To experience this energy field (Bliss) is the most addictive of all human experiences.” In the movie “Lost Horizon,” Dr. Hawkins illustrates how Shangri-La is akin to experiencing bliss. The lead character, due to various circumstances, leaves Shangri-La only to find that his bliss experience is the only one he truly desires and that he will give up everything to “get back to Shangri-La.” Powerful and personal, Dr. Hawkins creates a context in which to hold an understanding of the whole process of addiction.

Great content not the best quality

It's a training/ lecture he's doing and he refers to a map at certain times. Also the sound quality isn't the best. However the content of the information is stellar. Still worth it don't let these things stop you

Dr. Hawkins offers the sweet nectar of troof. ya ya, the audio's not great, and he always goes on tangents! 😉

Excellent content!!!!

The talk is very informative, I learned a lot out of it. Although, who listens needs to have handy the chart with all the consciousness levels, which he refers to constantly as "the box". I did have it, so it helped me a lot to understand him better. But most people probably won't have it, so I think it needs to be added with the audio as complimentary material, indispensable to understand the talk. The other inconvenient is that since it was a live talk he referred constantly to the chalk board or even the "box" in a way that only who was watching him understood what he was referring to. But the content is well worth it's price if you want to understand better the consciousness levels and more so addiction.

A must listen for anyone and everyone, especially addicts, alcoholics and their loved ones

Being a recovering addict myself (also have had 7 1/2 years of college education), this recording of the Master of Consciousness, Dr. David Hawkins, presents the experience of addiction, from a physical perspective and from levels of consciousness. I suggest you obtain a copy of his Levels of Consciousness poster prior to listening. Another must read/listen is his book Power vs. Force. Through the years I grew to respect and love the extent of his knowledge maintaining an almost inhuman level of humility. I truly love Dr. David Hawkins!
