I liked it

Love it, good story, well read. Found myself making time to listen. That is my measure of a good audio book.

Great continuation of a excellent series

I really liked how this sequel tied wencit, his history and the actual story together. It also set the scene for further sequels with Gwenna and Kenhoden. I missed a little bit the explanation of why and how the dire cat arrived, The missing years between Leana's marriage to Bahzell and the arrival of Kenhoden would mke a nice interlude.

There is such a thing as too powerful.

I don't know that a 5th book with the same characters from the first 4 and a few new ones added can work. They are just too powerful and it gets hard to challenge them. Something every DM who has tried to run a game for 10th level and up has discovered. "You did how much damage with that fireball?!?" I think the world is worth further exploration but he needs a new perspective and new heroes to pick up the battle cry. The old ones have grown too powerful to be interesting.

Entertaining and a promising start

The characters are great and the long awakening seems awesome. I just hope theres a lot more where it came from.

A great listen!

This story returns to the small group quest, similar to the first book. It has explains a lot about the characters and has plenty of character interaction, making more human than the massive field battles of the previous book. Since the first book caused me to fall in love with the series, I consider this a wonderful development.

I also love this narator. The characters' voices come alive, adding the their humanity.

The story resolves nicely but overal saga has a lot to be resolved. I can't wait for the next book!

A new chapter

This us clearly a new chapter in the War God's own series. While some previous characters are present, new stars also emerge. My only regret is that the next book in the series isn't yet available.
