Excellent work!

While this was a very sad story about the loss of Gwen’s mother due to cancer, it touched a very deep sense of loss for me. My wife died two years ago ultimately due to congestive heart failure after being together for 28 years.

The MCs family was very challenging because of all the many secrets that were kept so Gwen mom, father, and her girlfriend Leila would not hurt the new relationship Gwen had with her mother.

The plot development was excellent with great, gradual buildup.

Lula Larkin’s narration was also excellent, as always!

Overall, an excellent book!

Amazing book.

love this book! this book kept me I interested, I love the healing relationship between mom and the daughter and how in depth the story line went. I actually cried through some of the book. this book was very good and highly recommend it. I love Erin Zak and Always love Lula Larkin as narrator. Great job to you both!!

This is a must listen to!

Dysfunctional

This is an incredibly dysfunctional family and I don’t feel like anyone ends up better at the end to be honest. Everyone is lying to Gwen all the time about everything and for some reason Gwen is the one who needs to get over herself and do all the changing? That’s SUPER messed up. Gwen’s mom is really manipulative and has a history of verbal abuse that Gwen rightfully runs away from, but then she’s blamed for staying away so long instead of coming back sooner to make things right. Then when Gwen is stepping up and making all the effort to forgive her dying mother, the family just keeps piling on. I feel really bad for Gwen and how everyone calls her selfish when she’s the only honest one and she is only standing up for herself. That’s not selfish, that’s just basic self-care. No one in Gwen’s life deserves forgiveness and the lesson this book teaches is that they should be forgiven anyway. So if you’re into stories where the main character has to be the bigger person without anyone else owning up to their own mistakes and instead blaming someone else for simply being absent, you will like it.

Memories

I thought this was an excellent book, well written, the story line was bringing up good memories of my mother who passed 13 years ago. In a way the reconciliation of the MC with her mother and her friend made me feel good.
