While Dalton Teban trains to master his new powers, the five worlds slip further into chaos. Humans are lashing out at demons, whether friend or foe, and the panic begins to permeate into the Dimension Protection Council.
Dalton returns to find tensions surging to a breaking point, which threaten to topple the 4000 year old council. The Guardians are unsure who to trust, and even Dalton is suspected to be part of plot to destroy humanity. Bolstered by Dalton’s newfound strength, Team Dalton attempts to assuage the concerns of the Guardian Branch about Yokouro and the corruption within the Dimension Protection Council. Even though it seems that Dalton is ready to take charge of the hunt for Yokouro DeVastes, tensions within his own team threaten to derail their progress.
Living in Mitoki’s house during the fourth round of the Guardian Tournament, it is clear that there is a dark secret looming around the youngest of Team Dalton, and that Yokouro has likely been manipulating the young Guardian’s life for years. As Dalton struggles with the internal politics of his team, an unprecedented disaster with the dragon clan topples the delicate balance among the realms. Residual panic of the barely-avoided catastrophe only feeds the fire consuming the people, leading to unspeakable acts of violence among the people of the realms.
Yokouro takes advantage of the imbalance to finally push Dalton into accepting his fate—that he will fight Yokouro in a battle that will determine the fate of humanity. Rife with anger and frustration, the five worlds descend into chaos as Yokouro’s influence and the incredible power of the Trade Masters threaten to fracture Team Dalton apart.
