Not American enough
I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the author’s other books! It engaged me and wasn’t predictable. One point that bothered me was the use of British colloquial terms and situations in a book set in the US. The editors should have caught these errors. I also wondered why only one character had a southern accent when most of the characters were from Virginia. Didn’t make sense to me.

Very good legal mystery.
I thought the narration was great. The story was very good, had some very good sharp turns. Even the twists that were a bit expected still maintained a nuance that was fresh.
I felt connected to the characters, especially Hannah. Even when Hannah was behaving badly I was rooting for her.

Twists and turns
Fun story. Lots of ups and downs. McTiernan is a great story teller. Reads a bit like it was written for TV or a movie. Definitely worth the time (at least for me).

Solid but not amazing
It’s a solid novel with plenty of intrigue and kept me listening. The ending felt rushed and I wished for my closure with all the characters.

SPECTACULAR IN EVERY WAY!!
This was the epitome of a perfect book for me. I read 3-4 audiobooks a week, and have for over 10 years. This is now my new favorite book I’ve read in all that time. I don’t want to say anything about the book, it is best to go in knowing nothing. But boy, be prepared for a fantastic journey! I am now looking out for more books from this brilliant author, in the unlikely event she sees this review, Bravo! This was perfection. I’m a huge fan. 👏🏻
