Acerca de esta escucha

Those who were left behind after the Rapture must now make a crucial decision. Each person must choose whether to receive the mark of the beast, or die. Never has faith in God been more important for the group of believers called the Tribulation Force, who now face danger on all sides. Valiantly, they continue to urge new followers to accept Christ's love. Noted scriptural authority Tim LaHaye provides outlines for the vivid biblical prophecies in The Mark and the other books in the series. Best-selling author Jerry B. Jenkins creates the dramatic stories for each fast-paced apocalyptic thriller. With Audie Award-winning narrator Frank Muller's powerful performance, The Mark takes on additional dramatic force.

The Left Behind series has topped best seller lists across the country, been the subject of special features in national media, and captured the attention of Hollywood producers. With sales in the tens of millions, the Left Behind books are the biggest selling inspirational series of all time.

Speed reader.

I've listened to many books on Audible and this is the 1st time I've had to slow a book down. Not only is this a different reader than previous books but he read it way too fast, using the same rhythmic ending to most sentences. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but not so much the performance. Some of the characters' voices were rediculous (gangster style) and Zion's name was pronounced wrong the entire time.

Threw me for a loop but still enjoyed it

It took me a while to get used to the new narrator with different accents and name pronunciations. I was 2 chapters in before i realized that 'Zee-on' was the same person as Zion. LoL
once i got used to the differences I enjoyed this as much as all the other books.
being able to "read" while getting all my errands done has spoiled me. I may never pick a book up again

Not the same Narrator :(

Great series. First 7 books with one fantastic narrator. I’m sure that had a good reason for changing narrators 2/3 of the way through the series, however it is very distracting trying to determine which character is now talking. It’s like listening to a whole new set of people. 5 Star series. 5 Star story. However I can’t give it 5 stars for performance. This narrator did just fine, but lack of continuity in the series brings it down to 2.

Oh gosh… the narration!

I've been listening to this series and have generally enjoyed Every book I have heard so far.. This one actually has some of the best pacing and overall story in the series and was very exciting, especially in the second half. But the narration was absolutely terrible. The key villains, the ones who embody evil on Earth, Sound like Count Chocula and Joey Soprano. The guy reads at like double speed (to the point where a quick succession of coversation exchange sounds like a schizophrenic is having a stroke and you cant tell who is who). He also mispronounces names we have been hearing for the entire series so there is a lot of confusion on who he is talking about (who messes up Zion? Surely you are familiar with the etymology of Mt. Zion, or do you call it Mt. Tseeone?). It also feels like he was using this audio deal as an audition for several cartoon voice acting jobs he was hoping to get (just because you CAN do a voice, doesnt mean you SHOULD, and just stay away from Asian/Jewish accents, you cant pull them off buddy). Long story short, ill be returning the audio version and look forward to reading the paperback again in the future.

Good story, distracting narration

The narration was distracting after listening to the first seven books. The speed of narration was often too quick and nearly every sentence trailed off where the last word was almost a whisper. It was like Humphrey Bogart was telling the story in one of his old Private Eye character roles. The character accents didn't line up with previous books either; in the first couple books it was said Nikolai could speak many languages with hardly any hint of an accent and he sounded like Count Dracula in this narration. Same for Leon, he was a weasel and sounded like it in the previous books but in this one he sounded like John Gotti with a strong NY accent.

New narrator hard on the ears

Love following the story of the Trib Force, but switching to a new narrator that speaks way too fast to understand at times and uses totally different dialects and tones for characters than what you've gotten use to from previous books, it's very disappointing.

Wonderful!

This was wonderful! I thought I wouldn't like the narrator however, he performed the voices quite well. The voice of Carpathia was much more fine tuned by the end of the book.
I was enthralled in the story to the point of disappointment at the books conclusion.
This series drives me to the Word. It drives me to the feet of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. It drives me to Jesus.

Narrator issues

Almost ever sentence ends in a sort of breathy sigh. Makes for a less engaging experience.

Cold water

The abrupt change in narration jarred the reader out of the story. I didn't realize that the name Zion could possibly be mispronounced so badly...or that I would care so much about its pronunciation. The story is still amazing...but I didn't much care for the whispery hiss at the end of LITERALLY every sentence. I loved his Steve Plank accent and his borderline offensive Mr. Wong. The rest....meh.
