Entertaining Adventure
I enjoyed this The writing is intelligent, even if the sci-fi is pretty thin. I was about half way through when it dawned on me that this might be a YA or even a children's book. But what the heck, its suitable for all ages I guess. My only criticism is that the science fiction angles disappear completely and it becomes more of a magic/fantasy type adventure. But by that time I was already engaged. I definitely intend to listen when the next book arrives. And by the way, the narrator is pretty good too. I can't find anything else by either the author or the narrator. Excellent first efforts for both of them!

Great story and character building
I am an avid fan of fantasy that has some deeper meaning. This story is building similar to the Oregon Scott Card type of world building. I love the dichotomy being presented in this story. The culture building is also fascinating. Looking forward to the next book!

Great storytelling and immersive narration.
This is a very fun and exciting story with a lot of heart and great characters. The storytelling flows really well and makes you want to continue reading/listening. The audio performance was also awesome, you can tell he put a lot of heart into reading this story and made it even more immersive with his use of accents and other creative techniques, making it feel like more than just another book being read.
