More than a century ago, the sea islands of Georgia's coastline were the playground of the ultra-wealthy. Rockefellers, Carnegies, and other aristocrats of the Industrial Age built luxurious southern beach retreats on islands like Jekyll and Cumberland to escape icy New York winters. In time, the grand mansions were abandoned and fell into disrepair, surrendered to the weather and the wilderness.
A secretive client hires paranormal investigator Ellie Jordan to study one such island, home to a sprawling estate modeled after a royal hunting lodge. Someone is trying to bring the neglected island back to life, but the shadows of its gilded past remain strong, stalking the galleries and winding corridors.
The mysterious grand lodge is more than it seems, and its restoration has unearthed profound evil. Ellie must uncover the lodge's dark history and drive its paranormal inhabitants back into the world of the dead where they belong, before they can do more harm to the living.

Another Eerie Installment
What an awesome paranormal series. It is clever, just spooky enough (my heart could not take much more), and features a great pair of intrepid ghost hunters. Ellie and Stacy play off one another well. A great team. -I find listening at .9 speed works best for me. These Southerners speak fairly quickly. :)

Love This Series!
The Ellie Jordan series is one of my 'throw down and read' series, and I'm so glad to see more of them available on Audible! The narrator, Harley Renault, is different than Carla Mercer Meyer, but once you accept that, she's every bit as good. The story is a great addition to the series and doesn't disappoint - the concept is just gruesome! You can beat this series for a gorgeously creepy read without over the top violence and gore! Don't listen on a stormy night - you might not be able to sleep! Keep them coming, sir! I'll buy every, single one!
